Need Opinions (and help)

I have been looking at getting a 3 for a week or two and came across a deal for a 6 that has got me thinking and I need to know what someone else thinks:
2004 Mazda 6i w/manual (I prefer) for:
MSRP $19270 - $1500 (in lieu of 0% financing) - $2773 Dealer discount = $14997
I know it is a 6i, but it seems like a good deal. I cannot find anything comparable with the same features. The last car I had was a 01 Cougar w/ 120HP 4, so even a 160HP 2.3 4 would probably seem a lot faster to me. What do you think? I think it is better than getting a stripped 3 w/o any power anything, while base 6 has keyless, power everything and is larger. Help!

I fell in the same...or lil similar situation. The 6 came out way cheaper and the dealership gve me blue book so rebate really did finnish off the negitave equity and making my 6 cheaper than the 3. I feel i made a better choice cause the 6 is more of a car than the 3 in my eyes and most others regardless of it's et times with the 3. I saw it as buying more for the same or similar price "Baran Buy" I don't to this day regret getting the 6i over the 3s.....are you plannig on running it? or later down the line...drop a v6 in since the car is suited for the V6 (Spacewise) I like the looks of the 6 over the 3 hands down but If I could have both I would have both.

I don't plan on doing anything to it for quite some time, I was just looking for reliable transportation at a good price and don't think I will find anything better than that deal. I have been looking around and everyone is just offering the 1500 off or 0% (the local dealer doesn't haggle much) and thought that for 14997 it was a great deal. I am worried about the gas mileage though, I am driving a corolla that gets 40 mpg until I find a new car. I like the style and reputed reliability of the 6.
I am also quite often a victim of buyer's remorse. I'm afraid that I will get the 6 and there will be great things out in 05. But then again, that price has got me thinking a lot.

I'm getting this wierd vibe....have you test driven the vehicle yet? If you test driven the vehicle I have the feeling you would have made your mind up a long time ago. I did test the 3s and 6i and my butt dyno registered no difrence other than one had abs, navigation, 17's and the other didn't. and to answer your queston from first post....yes you will feel the difrence in pull and and definently cornering in the 6. Only thing I have left to say is hope you get a dealer that wants you to actualy get a feel of the vehicle and you will get buyers remorse weather you buy the 6 or let alone a pair of shoes cause something new always come out...don't go broke trying to keep up with the jones'es (friday)
