Need help!

i have the 2003.5 MSP and sometimes it will fly at full boost and other times it will fall on its face and be super slow but still be a full boost.
when it hesitates it seems like it only does it until about 4000 rpms then it starts to go. other times right after 2000 rpms it will start to go real fast. another thing is that when it falls on its face, i hear a louder whistle noise from the turbo. when i go back to vacum it seems faster than when it is actually boosting when it hesitates. another thing is that when it hesitates i can put the clutch in and rev it up really high and go back in gear and itll have its power back for some reason.
the whole engine is stock and i really dont know what to do here, help would be greatly appreciated

Try finding an SSAFC V2, have a look around the forum there is plenty of info about them.

i dont think that would fix it because it only does it randomly its not a full time problem

If you hear a whistling, it is more than likely your WGA. It will whistle when the diaphram goes bad. Simple check would be to see if it holds vaccuum. Do you have a boost/vaccuum guage?

yes i do. it idles perfect and it only does it when the engine reaches warm temp .

how do i find the boost leak and if it were a boost leak wouldnt it be all the time rather than every now and then?

You have to do a boost leak test or a smoke test to find a boost leak. A boost leak test requires making a cap that fits where the filter goes on the intake and pumping air into the piping to find leaks.

i have the same problem. im getting so fed up with this thing, i would rather drive my 88 gtx any day over this thing and it only has 132 hp. but is probably twice as fast

also i found that i have a p0660 code but no CEL. it has been hesitating a lot less often but it does it every now and then still, im sure it has to be a leak somewhere because only when it falls on its face is when i can hear a lot of air sound sort of like the swoosh of the turbo but louder. if i had to guess where the sound was coming from i would say its somewhere on the lower driver side, and i can hear it clearly in the cabin of the car

have you checked your turbo manifold for cracks?

i just replaced it less than 500 miles ago and the exhaust has no leaks , i gues ill go get some sea foam and run it through there

You have a boost leak. Check you BOV. If it is aftermarket just take it out and clean it. Anytime you have a loss in power and hear air noises you have a boost leak.

ok that makes sense because when it hesitates and itll hit full boost, i can put the clutch in and the engine will die then start running again , it all happens within 5 seconds

Take all the pipes off and inspect then reinstall. I think its a boost leak that you cant see.
