I have an '06 Mazda6 with the factory NAV system. Hense my problem... Every clean install I've seen has made use of the center map console, but my car already has the NAV screen there.
I've thought about using the AVElectronic spliter to use the same screen for the carputer, but that leaves me with two problems. One, it's not a touch screen, so I would have some other type of pointer device, and two I would like to have both the NAV screen and video playing simultaneously, so it would be awesome if I could mount a second monitor (and I can't justify the obscene price of the AVElectronic switch).
What other options do I have? Has anyone successfully mounted a touchscreen somewhere other than the map compartment? I did see a picture of someone mounting it where the factory stereo is located, but at this stage I don't really want to replace the factory Bose system. So my options are very limited. Any other options?
