Need help removing head unit

Hello guys! I just picked up a blue MPS with 33k last saturday and have been lurking around the forums since.
I would like to hook up my Ipod using an ebay cable but I'm having issues pulling out the stock head unit. I used butter knives to slide it out but it only comes out about 95% - not enough to connect my cable. I tried pulling pretty hard but it won't give. I don's want to yank out the connectors. Any tips?

That's the thing, It doesn't come out enough for me to unplug it. The cables are too short

did you take out the other din pocket? if not then do that, then you can reach it while its still all the way in

Got to it through the glove box.
