Need Help on Engine

I recently have gone threw my stock 2.0 Engine after I put my custom turbo kit on it a year ago..... So I put in my new engine and hook everything up, And I start it and after it warms up my vacuum is low, around 8.... so I've checked and checked and I am not finding a vacuum leak or anything missing. That's one problem, the other is after about 3 mins of idling my exhaust manifold starts to glow.. so that would mean either Timing is off or Fuel.... I've checked fuel and it's fine and my timing I have checked over and over and it is dead on. Any info would really be appreciated....... I have an 02' Protege LX and I was wondering if the timing is supposed to be dead on or if from factory it needs to be advanced or not, I have not read or heard anything on it so plz help if you can or point me in the right direction........

Thanks

It sounds like the vacuum problem is causing an extreme lean condition. How many different points did you test the vacuum? What did you check on the fuel system?

When I did my swap, I missed the line that goes from the IM to the Boost sensor (I don't know why they don't just call it a MAP - manifold air pressure like every other OBDII car I've worked on), located on the passenger side strut tower. Check the line to the FPR as well.

Timing should be zeroed at idle.

I went threw and threw all the vacuum lines and unplugged and re-plugged in, checked all my necessary check-valves and they are in working order... I have A/F Gauge and it's says I am running fine, I know those arn't totally accurate but when I adjust my Rising Rate FPR the Gauge reacts to it so I believe it is ok.. I haven't check for the line for the Boost sensor but I will.... Thanks for the info. I am going to Louisiana for business for about ten days but I will get back and let you know what I found....

Thanks Again
