Trade it in on an MS3. Limiter is set at 240 km/h.

clever

i won't be getting a MS3 cause i'm broke....and i can't get a race car..

so - helpful advise would be much appreciated.... :)

OH and the 3 may not be designed for the same speed - but my skill makes up for the difference.

Oh boy. (hand)

I've heard that only the dealer can reset the Limiter. A guy either on this forum or another had coaxed his dealer into setting to top out at 140, he wanted it removed all the way, but beyond 140 your tires wouldn't probably hold out. Take the SIs down at the track. You'll probably trap higher than him and you won't have to worry about racing at 120+, it's also much safer.

finally...

Thanks for the 411..

btw - you're ride is looking sweet. it's exactly what i was planning to make mine look like. you have good taste.

Thanks. Beauty is in simplicity. I'm planning on removing the side molding as soon as the weather will permit me to do so. As far as hitting top speeds, the car does really well with mid range, run an SI from a dig or a 30 roll and you should be pretty good. Once you start pulling, it should be clear that you've one.

please realize i don't make a habit of street racing.

for those of you in the Greater Toronto Area - you will be familiar with HWY 407... it is a toll based highway - the only one i know of in Canada and is loosely patrolled.

On my commute to and from work you will average 140 - 160km/h......

I usually hit the governor cruising along with a pack of Bimmers and so on.

The reality is - the 407 is the Autobahn...

And when a Ricer passes me. i am not happy..

fellow 407 users can attest.

While I dont doubt your "skills" they are useless when the laws of physics kick in...have you considered:
a) the tires arent rated to go higher... blowing a tire out at 180+ kph isnt fun
b) the aerodynamics of the car drastically change as the speed increases (sorry a wing in the back alone wont cut it) - the car gets lighter and lighter as the speed increases - any sudden gust of wind or dip in the road will throw the car off
c) You dont need to have a race car and/or sports car to enjoy a day at the track.. it really is much safer and a more realistic challenging test of your skills... anyone and everyone can slam the gas pedal down and keep the car in a straight line in the hwy... I guarantee you 80% of those rice rockets and bimmers out there would be lost on a real race course....

Haha, at least the thread is named appropriately.

Isn't it the 401? In any case, the highway isn't a video game. Why try to keep up with cars that are faster than yours?

Agreed, As an example I have driven both my Evo and a friends RS at high speed and just the lack of the wing on the RS was noticable at high speeds. The RSs back end became very loose and scary at over 100 MPH (160 KPH). If the car is limited, it is for a reason. Usually though that reason is the TIRES. Have you upgraded the tires?
