I am having a custom FMIC made as we speak. The shop has started the piping and all that. We have come to the point where we are going to make a custom bracket for the radiator so that I can remove the stock intercooler. I am wondering what to do with the second fan that is partially connected to the stock intercooler. Do I need it or not. They are not totally sure and I really dont want to have overheating problems. What Have all you guys with like the perrin FMIC setup done??? Is this fan necessary and if so then what should I do with it?

I appreciate any kind of help. Thanks, Alex.

The fans should stay... they aren't overly difficult to keep... if this is being done in a shop... come on!

Ok so then that is a yes on keeping the second fan. Would it be better to get a smaller almost like a slim fan to put there. The only feason why I am not sure is because I am wantting to totally remove the stock intercooler and the second fan that I am talking about is bolted up halfway behind the stock intercooler.

have them fabricate a metal plate to put in place of the stock intercooler like what comes w/ the hiboost kit...this way you wont lose any of the stock fans capabilities...

the fan is there for a reason.

take it to another shop if they are wanting to half ass your car.

You will miss the second fan next August . . . in traffic.

exactly...half of the fan covers the IC & half covers the radiator. By putting on the metal plate you no longer have to worry about the fan just blowing air around the radiator. W/ the plate it will still effectivley fan theradiator & you wont have the potential to overheat
