Need Advice....used Car Dealership :(

DFW of Saturn used car dealership is the place...

December 8th of 2005 I bought a 2004 Mazda3 S from this dealership. In the contract we put in there that the scratches need to be touched up. We called them three times to get a date, they said they would call and never have. We even went up there one time!!! The night we bought the car we also traded in my wifes car. Her car had a base sticker on there and we needed that sticker for her to get a new one. The used car sales man said that he would get it off tomm and have it there for us to pick up when ever. I called 5 days later and he said that he will check, he thinks it is in the back lot. I go up there two days after that, the car is at auction but he will try to get it for me. Well that never happened. Then to top it all off I went to go get it inspected today and it failed. The drives and passenger side tint on the windows is to dark!!!

So I go up to the dealership and talk to the manager over used car sales...I tell him that I have been trying to get the car scratches taken out but no one has done anything. He says that it is the first time he has heard of it and that we can bring it in this next Tuesday...(we were told that the days were Thursday, then Friday, and now Tuesday!!!) Then I talk to him about the inspection. He said that he can have the window tint stripped but that is it. They will not put new tint on it.... And nothing was said about the base sticker. When he started telling me all this I was getting mad but I controlled myself. He did not do the same thing. He started raising his voice telling me "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO....I AM TRYING...." I told him that I was upset that I have not heard anything in over a month...He then proceeded to say, "Do you want me to call the salesman in here right now and fire him??? Do ya?"

I got the number for the GM at the dealership and called him but have not heard anything back yet.....This sucks.....anyone have any advice???

if its in the contract, by law, they have to do it. tell them youll go to court over the matter. as for the base sticker, you shouldnt need it. Im a MP out in CO, and all we do with people who get new cars is send them to vehicle registration. All they do is check the stuff for the new car, and give it a sticker. The only thing we've do with the old one is take it, and pretty much trash it. Its good just to get off the car, so other people cant use it. Like i said tho, you dont need the old sticker to get a new one, least not out here anyways. assuming its the same there, since most places are.

Thats cool....I am not sure on it. Going to have my wife check her next drill weekend.
They said that they are going to do the scratch stuff and get them out, but not retint the front windows again. They will strip them to make it pass inspection but that is it.

This is what sucks....I bought a car with WINDOW TINT!!! Come to find out the window tint is not street legal. So they are going to take the window tint off....
I lose on one of the selling points of the car. I hate car dealerships now!!!!

yeah, that does suck there. should tell them since theyve caused you such a headache, they should re-tint it for free.

Very sorry to hear about your troubles, man. Recently bought a new car (06 Civic) and also had much displeasure with dealerships -- or at least the service department. I've been struggling lately with bad customer service experiences, and maintaining my temper.... good job tho. I'm not a violent person, but that guy deserves a punch in the nose! He keeps talking to people like that and he'll get one sooner or later.

Hope everything is okay with the MP3... I saw one Sunday in a parking lot (LOL... looked just like yours!) and missed it terribly. A little confused why the Mazda Certified Pre-Owned warranty didn't cover some of your issues, but again hope everything is okay.

The MP3 is great luckezero....no problems at all with it!!!

Everything worked out with the 3. They repainted the scratches and got it inspected.
The guy called me the next day and talked to me like I was his best friend!!
Just keep going up until you get to the top...they are the only ones who will help you. Did you get a SI model???

Glad to hear everything worked out, man. Nah, I got an LX -- 40mpg on the freeway was way cool back in September when gas was $3.20 a gallon for regular! Even with the 140hp, it's still moves alright. Not like an MP3, especially in the corners
