navigation auto day/night mode

does anyone notice that the auto day/night mode doesn't work? I was just driving (8pm) and it keeps it in day mode. This thing useless like the voice recog?

You twist the stalk on the center gauge that you press to switch between trip A & trip B for the odometer to adjust the gauge lighting & it changes the navi screen to night mode.

AFAIK, it automatically goes to night mode when you turn on your headlights. That's how it works for me. It might be that the stalk that changes the intensity of the gauge lighting was in the locked "on" position in your situation.

You can set to auto mode via the settings button on the centre screen. Then when the lights come on will automatically dim the display. If they come on when it is dusk & you don't want things so dark, then give the stalk in the binnacle one twist clockwise, and light is restored.

Next time you drive at night, the auto facility will still be in place.

There is one thing, there looks to be an intermediate display level as you twist the stalk back to dim mode, and it looks more user friendly, but not available though.
