Nav questions - Mem Point v. Preset Dest v. Home

Hi

Just got the Navi system, in my 07 GT, 5 door (no yelling - they had the color I wanted with a nav, I'm not a bad person).

Anyway, the user manual is awful, and although somewhat bright, my brain is thowing an Error 1200, I'm clueless about a couple of things:

a) what is the difference, why would I call something a "preset destination", as opposed to a "memory point" ???

b) adding waypoints is not explained, there is ONE entry in the manual (if you don't have the online PDF version, you should), and all that says really is "set a waypoint", LOL

c) It seems to know I have "previous destinations" (shows "17/100") - but the "list" function is alaways grayed out, I can not figure out how I am supposed to see the list, so I can pick one.

Thanks

memery point you enter once and save, so u can get back to it through your destination entry...i have no clue what the way point is

If it's similiar to a planes flight path, a way point is just a point of destination along the way to your end destination. I guess you'd use them if you wanted to avoid the most direct route. (due to traffic, cops, parades, elephants ect..)

Thanks, what I mean is why would I call one thing a "memory point" as opposed to calling it a "preset destination" is there some advantage to one versus the other (apparently max 5 Preset Destinations) ?

not sure about the preset destinations - though Ill try to look for you.

the waypoint is a set destination on your way to your final destination. say you were going to your parents house, and you wanted to stop at a nearby mcdonalds on the way. you could set the mcdonalds as a waypoint and it will bring you there before bring you to your parents house, so you dont have to worry about mapping directions separately for both.

My waypoint confusion was that it seems more intuitive for me to select "waypoint entry by map", and then move the cursor to where I want the waypoitn.

whenever I would do this it wouldn't move the cursor, just set the waypoint to the current location of the map cursor.

i guess it wants you to move the cursor first, then set the waypoint.

Is there an easy way to just have to return via the same route you travelled ??

i.e. - I've gotten to my parents, and now I just want to go back along the same route ???

thanks
