National Mazda Cannonball Rally

Alright guys. This is it. Me and Ken (Captain KRM P5) have been discussing his mazdateam "rally" to montana, and i've come up with this idea..

LA to NYC..Gumball rally rules..moderate speed limit..since our cars aren't that fast to begin with..Cruise will be set up into stages..everyone will meet at a designated hotels along the way .fastest through the stages wins..overall winner in the end..I would love for this to be a gigantic convoy from la to nyc..If you want to set the landspeed record and win..be all means, but I want to provide a safe and fun time for all the normal enthusiast folk. I want this to spill over into a large meet....

As mentioned later in this thread..We're proposing a Start meet in california put on by MOCC..SpicyMSP mentioned she could book us a tour of Mazda R&D. A large cali meet would be a great way to kick off the rally. From there..There will be several stages out. We're also proposing stops at the varoius hot spots along the way..I.E arizona protege club, omaha and the mid-west guys for bbq's and mini-meets, so on and so forth..all the way out to nyc..The whole intention of this is to have the rally but also, provide a large convoy of all mazdas to the meet/extravaganza on the east coast..All mazdas are welcome..People would like to join the meet, but not necessarily run the rally are more than welcome to join ranks half-way for the cruise..I really want to get this planned and ready to rock and roll..I'm asking for anyone who would like help IM me @ kaptainkyle7.. chicago to new york is a 12 hour drive. thats less than a days worth of driving.

The reason I was thinking Chi-town is because that is as far as I'm willing to drive..then turn around and drive back..Mazdateam is all around chi-town and we have a lot of members between here and there..I'm still thinking about a texas-nyc run..but honestly, it all depends on who will actually go out and do this! Hell, if we get enough people..i'll go to cali and back.
