So long story short, I had an '06 MZ3 before my MS3(GT). I had a 12" Kicker L5 in my MZ3. My dad now drives it as a DD and we have since taken out the sub. However, I used his car the other day and was very surprised when his speakers sounded much better than mine. I remember when they installed my sub the told me they were going to install a small piece that would make the speakers sound much better. Now I am trying to figure out what it is called, I am thinking it is some sort of power resistor bypass... Could anyone shed some light on this? Could this be done with an MS3 to achieve better sound? Thanks :)

the blose blows. i have a MS3 sport and my stock speakers sound amazing with an amp.

i havent installed my infiniti kappas which were supposed to replace my stockers but there is no need to right now. the stockers sound too good to go through the effort of changing them

Could be a high pass filter?

thats what it sound like,

PCspeed3. i have a pioneer z1 and have a HPF built into my headunit. Mine is turned on.

check your settings. if you have one it should show as "HPF" or atleast thats how mine is. turn it ON and you will hear the difference

Thanks for all the responses guys, I sent the link to this thread to a local audio shop guy to see if we may be able to put some life into the Bose system of the MS3.

240: so can we just install a HPF to the headunit to give it some life?

Depends what the stock speakers are... are they 2-way? components? what size?
They are 6x8... And they are like little pieces of cardboard.. So small.. but they didnt sound bad. They are voiced with big holes in the sound spectrum though, that way they sound good.

I talked to the guy and he said that they do a HPF with a subwoofer install because it filters out the low end bass to the mid speakers, thus making them able to go louder/sound better. He said I could do that but it would take away from the low end bass. I think I actually may go for it...
