I'v ejust been informed that MB is no longer selling the classic. Beccause of a structural defect. So discount tire had to cancel my order.

Now what I wanna know is can I use a 17x7 with a 38 mm offset ?................without rubbing. If not can I space them out 7 mm ?

does anyone like these ?

The good thing is, you found out about the defect before you bought the wheels.

Imagine finding out after you got them.......That would be crap.

And yes, those look nice.

Do a search on tire fitment, there is a guide that details required offset based on diameter. I believe you will need 40mm offset with a 17" to avoid rubbing, presuming you have not lowered your car. Pretty sure 38mm will rub.

If you HAVEN'T lowered your car, you can run most 17" and 18" wheels you want because rubbing won't be an issue.

If you HAVE lowered your car, you can run 205/40/17 tire and 17" wheel with a 48 offset without rubbing. No need to roll fenders at all.

If you HAVE lowered your car, you can run 215/30/18 tire and 18" wheel with a 50 offset without rubbing.

These wheel and tire combos minimize the amount of difference between the speedometer and actual speed of the car.

Ok one last question .

So what is the lowest offset I can run lowered, 40mm ? I know 45mm is whats recomended. If I run 40mm will get any rubbing with a 45 series tire. If I have to I will run a 40 series in the rear and 45 series in the front.
