My stock dyno results (56k warn)

I went to dyno yesterday so I could get some runs stock. I thought that I would share with you all as well.

Info: Stock, except boost gauge that hits 7psi. Dealer stated flash was performed on all MSP's. I received mine in very late Oct. Barometric pressure: 29.15 in.Hg. Vapor Pressure: 0.19 in.Hg. Intake air temp: 65.8. We had some problems with the dyno but were finally able to get good readings so I got 5 runs. The last 3 runs were good runs. He didn't give me the full dyno sheet but run 3 was 148hp/159tq. Run 4 was 152hp/149tq. Run 5 (dyno sheet included) was 153hp/157tq. Note the cutout at 6250rpm. I do not know what happened.

I apologize for the crappy pics:

I'm by no means an expert but from that dyno looks like your car`s not flashed...
(i.e. big bump at 3k)
And with our little intercooler, hp and tq should go down after every run - weird.

yes it probably is flashed...that dump is normal on a stock ecu
nice pull though man...very nice

PIP- if you see this your probably thinkin the same thing i am...wtf? right?

mark looks good man. you are putting more horse down then me, but im putting down more torque. i know we went different days, but i didnt think it would be that different. 3 more horse and 10 less torque then me.

plus your steadly climbs, mine hits peak then steadly drops off. but for refereance. I DO NOT have the flash.

thats one ugly curve. :p
That dyno chart illustrates what the seat of my pants has been telling me ever since I got my MSP. I love the car, but I HATE the power curve. When it comes time for me to mod I will be looking to smooth out that torque curve as much as I'll be looking for any power gains.

I probably should dyno mine to get a baseline. It has a massive torque spike around 3k rpm before dropping way off and then picking back up again past 5.5k. It's maddening.

How much should I expect to pay for a couple of dyno runs?

sounds like you're not flashed.

are both of you stock??? I'm guessing the latter isn't. what mods do you have?
Mdaj is stock. at the time of my dyno that i posted i was competly stock also. I need to get back and dyno my Ijen intake that i just put on.

The bump in the chart is the closed -> open loop switch on the ECU. Look at how it coincides with the AF ratio changes to waaaaaay to freakin rich. That's happening whether the car is flashed or not. The difference was how much it dipped *after* that point, and then had to climb again. With a standalone (or piggyback...yet to be seen), you can adjust this to your little heart's desire and smooth it out.

As for HP and Torque in flashed VS unflashed...the flash doesn't add a lot to peak numbers (like 3 hp and 7+ ft/lbs for tq) so it's not the big a deal...it does add more area under the curve though, and that was what I wanted. :)

Now that I dynoed, I know what I have to work with as far as tuning. I also know for a cold hard fact that I need solid engine mounts. I didn't like my exhaust disappearing under the car during the dyno run. As Freek stated I am stock. Only thing I have done is switch to synthetic oil and add a boost gauge.

Damaga (And with our little intercooler, hp and tq should go down after every run - weird.) <-- We had let it sit for 20 minutes between each run to cool the baby intercooler down with a fan on it.

Coolios. I wish I could have kept the bad dynos. It reported me having 127hp and 195tq with a very self enducing flat air/fuel mixture. (2thumbs)

Yup...that looks nothing at all like my stock dyno graph. My numbers were nowhere near that. We really need to get another dyno session set up soon.

I'm about to wonder. The dealer I bought it from either didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground or were blatantly lying to me. I found out last week that my supposedly "pristine" MSP had a $6200 insurance claim paid out on it. The "CLUE" report from my insurance office turned it up, after Carfax didn't report anything.

I have to go see a dealer about a minor issue and will have them flash it just to be sure. The torque curve is heinous.
