Well this is what happens.
I went to S&R service, Theses guys are gear heads .
The build high performs engines, turbo to super charges diesel and all that.
Well I brought my car to them to install my quad 4 plugs.
Well the man pulled the wire .
One ok , the long sparko wires broke...
Im dead in the water.
He looks and says Wow look at this it was not crimped right...
We called around and no one has the wires for my car yet..
2002 MP5
Only mazda. And they want 56 bucks plus taxes. Like an ass, I threw away the stock wires, I thought why do I need them? I am putting new great top of the line wires, I do not need the sticking old ones..
Mazda has no wires until some time at the end of the week..
No good.
He took the wire and crimped it back to gather..
His words this wires are defective get new ones...
So here is my problem.
Do I go and spend 54 bucks at the dealer for new wires so I can send theses back? Or this is my feeling they should send me new ones and then, I will send them the bad ones back.

I never had problem with wires like this ever.
I am really pissed and really upset, I was 2 hrs late to work and got reamed because of sparko wires..
:bs: :bs: :bs: :wtf:

I've heard this complain about Sparkco wires... and all others. It's a common defect for any wires - to be crimped wrong. I think it's just the nature of the beast. For every set of wires manufactured, there will be some bad ones. I've probably made and crimped 1000 CAT-5 wires in my time, and I'm likely to crimp a bad one here and there.

I do test each wire before I use it, but if I crimp it badly, that won't show up necessarily until someone tries to disconnect it.

I'd be willing to be that the Sparkco wires are crimped by a machine and tested by a machine, so all the mis-crimped ones aren't going to be caught.

The only question that remains is how Sparkco deals with this situation when it occurs.

When did you purchase these wires ? According to ALLMAN, the Sparkco wires have been revamped with "beefier boots", so that they would be less problematic.

I'm crossing my fingers that the group buy in progress right now will be sent the newer versions. (nervous)

Why do you have to take your car to someone else to have sparkplugs put in?

Anyway, have them send you the new ones before you send them the old ones.

you can borrow my stock one till you get yours back. if you can come towards my area.

I guess mechanics were unaware of breakage problem and didnt' pull out wires carefully.
:)

I tried to tell People about this...It's not how you pull them out...When i took out my first pair(*which broke)..i pulled ever so slightly..I didn't just yank them out..But i'll tell you this much..when they sent my new pair..i did yank them out hard..and they worked!! They didn't snap or anything!!

I think sparkco should ship him a set than when he gets the new set..to mail them the defective set...Sparkco thinks that 1 out of 1,000 sold have the problem..But they don't realize how badly it could affect the person who gets in trouble b/c they don't have a spare set!

Just for my piece of mind...I alwayz keep my stock ones in the trunk!!

Chas

P.S. Hey ron..We'll meet up soon..to fix the problem!

I bought the FALL-APART-KOS=sparkcos

So did you contact Sparkco? What did they say?

same thing happened to me, with my wires, i just sent them back, with an e-mail explaining what happened and they are supposed to express me a new set as soon as possible

I am still waiting for a responce/..

I have never had this happin ever.
I am just in shock .
I f I know what I know now.. No way would I buy them....

ZG77_OzZ : I have sent you a response to the email you sent me today, and for the record I responded to you on April 15th, but I got no follow up. In that email I stated that we would replace them as covered under warranty, but asked if you had any photos.

I can not just send out replacement wires without getting the other ones back or at least getting some description or photo of the problem. I understand the situation ZG77_OzZ is in, and we are making an exception.

Yes the wires are machine clamp and tested as someone stated, and we have taken measures to further reinforce all clamping points.
