My quiet car project (dynamat). Any tips?

So I finally got a new sound system installed:
Panasonic 8405 HU
Quantum Audio 5.25 components front
Quantum Audio 6.5 coaxials in rear
...still have the self powered sub in the rear
Maybe not the best speakers but they sound great. I bought some Scosche Accumat or (whatever is comparable to Dynamat extreme)
I started with the rear doors and since I've never applied any of this stuff, I just started putting it everywhere. I put it on the outer shell and then cut out holes for anything that needed it...not sure if i over did it but i figured that more couldn't hurt.
I really noticed a difference, as before I could hear a lot of road noise coming from the rears and not it's just not there....okay, so now I have to finish up the fronts, but I seem to have caught the sound dampening bug and I'm thinking of doing the whole car...god help me! Any tips? I bought a bulk pack and I should have enough to do the trunk but then I think I'm going to take up the carpet and apply it there as well as lay down some synthetic carpet stuff like ensolite. Well, can't wait to finish the fronts.

You'll get 90% of the road noise if you do just the doors. Doing the firewall sometimes helps with engine noise but since that requires pulling the seats and carpet most people just do the whole floor while they are at it. I have never bothered. I think you will get better results covering the roof underneath the headliner.

As for the trunk, I'd only do that if you have subs back there and you hear more rattles than bass.

You gotta remember that no matter how much deadener you put down you can't put it on the windows so you will always have wind noise.

Maybe consider underbody deadening, most importantly the wheel wells. Are you sure 90% of the noise is from the doors alone? So far I have done just the rear doors to test this asphalt deadening I am using before doing the front doors. I dont really notice that much of a difference to be honest.

You'll have to do the outer skins of the doors to really notice a difference. In a hatchback like the P5, I'd say the rear wheel wells are just as important as the doors but in a sedan, you have the rear seat to separate the trunk from the cabin and it isn't as important.

yeah, I did the outer shells of the doors and it did make a big difference, especially with midbass. I still get a lot of road noise but what can you expect from this car. Gonna do the whole floor in a couple of months. Sounds good with just the doors done!
