I have put up a site for my MSP, and it details the mods I have done to it and I will update it as things move along. My wife has suggested dyno runs for Valentine's day, hmm...let me think about it for a minute. So go there if you are interested, let me know what you think.

Sorry, I guess working on it has exceeded my bandwidth. It will be back up later.

RE: Turbo Timer Install & Price

In step #2, is it necessary to cut the vaccum line to install the supplied "T" fitting? Or could you have just disconnected the hose, put the "T" fitting at the open end of the hose and added a piece of hose to reconnect?

Just trying to think of ways to remove the turbo timer without visible signs of altering.

Also, how much did you pay for the Timer, and where did you get it?

Thanks

You do not have to cut, you could add a small piece of vacuum line, but the "t" fittings on the MSP are barbed like a fish hook, so when I went to pull it off, the hose snapped off about 0.25". Wierd. I did find since then that there is what appears to be a vacuum port on top of the intake manifold with a black cap on it. I do not know what it it for, I assume for cruise control on the ES. You could likely tap in there and maybe get a more accurate reading (but I doubt it).

I have noticed that I get the most boost, 6.5-7.0 psi in top gears, like fourth and fifth, cruising at 3500 and then just easing on the throttle. WOT from a stop to redline will only show @5.8-6.4 psi. I wonder if the 3" CAI is slowing down the intake air speed, although that really should only make a difference after the throttle blade. I may switch down to a 2.75" CAI to see if there is a difference. I am also going to put the stock airbox back in for a few days while the CAI is being bent up out of aluminum. That should be tomorrow. I also added a ram air tube from inside the valence all the way up the tube to get more cold air in, it turned out to be very effective.

I bought it from summitracing.com, I am an American car hot rodder by heart, and have delt with them a lot. They have good return policies, and all the little Honda shops around here don't ever have anything you want in stock. Unless it's for a Civic. They got it to me in two days with extra shipping fees. Price was competitive. I think it was $125. The locals wanted $118, but 2-3 weeks to get.

I have exceeded my bandwidth for my site for the month, so they suspend it for an hour at a time. I uploaded a lot of pics and stuff in one day. After the first of the month it should be up and running full strength. I have had that site for 8 years, I guess they finally want me to pay for it. I might.

Exhaust is in the cards soon too.

p.s. Mazdaspeed rep gave me an orange MS hat to match our car!

i am thinking of getting this same turbo timer as you after looking at the other offerings from HKS Apexi and GReddy. now what i am wondering is, how did you know what wires on MSP were what. do you have a diagram?

Nice site. Your wife looks a little like Anne Heche, and thats a good thing. Good work!
