My new MP3 is FAST!

LOL so here we are again...

Turkish now here's the deal (whether you're an MP3 owner or just another flamer with a V8): Japanese spec MP3 engine puts out 170hp at the crank. What does it have that's better than ours? High compression pistons, better intake/exhaust cams, and a performance header.

You can do all this, add an intake and full catback, heck even get an ignition system, and the MP3 would probably never go over 180 AT THE CRANK tops. On the dyno, it would probably look more like 150ish at the wheels.

Thats pretty much the extent of bolt-on mods available for our car at this point. I know all this coz it's what I'm planning to do to my car (with possible exception to the ignition, and maybe I'll throw in a S-AFC). Like the others say, there's no way to go over 200 on our NA engine at the crank, or at the wheels with bolt-ons.

But for me, 170-180hp at the crank is already just fine...

As for the swearing idiot a few posts up, get a life. Don't stress your brain too much using up all your limited vocabulary! :D

I have pictures on my hard drive of the car, but it wont paste them up there in my profile. If you can tell me how, I will post it. Its the real deal.

OpusX at the crank,

turkish emal me the pictures and i will post them or you can post them by

try it it works, or send them to me i post them up

I'm wondering if there will be any 2002 MP3's or factory modified Protege's with some real HP to compete with the coming SE-R's and Matrix and such. Why are they even making the MP5's with looks and no HP.

Hey...again, looking to buy an MP3 and turbocharging it or supercharging it. Does anyone know of any kits out there that will DEFINITELY work with the MP3? Below is an email reply from Jackson Racing to me...

Unfortunately, we do not make a supercharger that can be used on the
protege. Sorry I could not be of further assistance.

Subject: focus supercharger

Hi...I'm looking into buying a 2001 Mazda Protege MP3. I know that it uses
the Ford Focus engine, and I was wondering if your focus supercharger would
fit on it. My guess is that it would, but I'm not sure if it would fit
under the lower hood as well as the strut bar. Please get back to me
ASAP!!! Thank you,
-D

A few people said that you can't get 200 hp with a NA 4 cylinder. Haha. I know this dipshit doesn't have 200 HP, but you can get 250-300 HP out of a NA 4 cyl easy. Bore it, stroke it, bigger cams, intake manifold, exhaust, head work, all that can give ya 300 HP at the crank. There are ALOT of Honda guys in my town, alot of my friends drive Hondas. We have gotten 275 HP @ the wheels with a B18C (Integra GSR Engine) with no forced induction or NOS. Bored it .30 over and put a stroker kit in it, Skunk Works Cams and a few Spoon Sports parts. So all you dicks out there bitching about 4 cyl POS's, I got news for ya, V8's are a thing os the past, I can get the same HP from a 4 cyl. Why go buy a Camaro with a ******* V8? If you were a real car buff you would buy a Honda with a 4 cyl and build it up to 400 HP, thats a challenge.

Any idiot can buy a Camaro with 300 HP, but thats what you haters are, idiots.

Oh, and not to be a smart ass or anything, but 60 extra HP from a few bolt ons IS possible hehe. I didn't think so either till I read this months Import Tuner. They added an intake, exhaust, and a downpipe to a turbo Supra. The intake alone added 25 HP!!! All 3 parts added like 75 HP and only cost about $1500! Took the HP on the Supra to like 420! Man, talk about a great car to mod, wish I could afford a turbo Supra hehe.

it would be possable to get 200 ponys at the wheels.. you guys do know that we have a OBD2 version of the 2.0L that was in the Ford Probe's .. the FZE engin "J-Spec" has close to 200 ponys.. and dont forget to check out my posting on the cheep turbo system .. when we are done the answer to the dreaded Question " Is that the new Subaru i saw on TV" we can say no its faster...

Not to be a smartass either NC_MP3 but, correct me if i'm wrong, there are 2 reasons why that Supra got so much more horses out of little bolt-ons..one, it's turbo and two, it is a straight six cylinder engine...by adding an exhaust to an 4 banger car stock would give you hardly any horsepower and some torque at the wheels...but like you said doing port polish, bore and stroke, etc. power can def. be pushed over 200whp..

I believe the speedvision world challenge protege's were putting out ABOUT 215hp with the N/A 4cyl FS-ZE engine. :D

Why don't you just list your "mods"? The pic can come later. I don't believe your story. Could this be tritonheat in disguise?

Hahaha, no he didn't just say could this be triton....haha :D Ok, I though it was funny. I don't think he's triton

The speed vision world challange car puts out 190 max, they are regulated to that # so they can keep in the class, they also have 215 tourqe. This post is alot of fun to read, but anyone who claims they mod they're car and dosent know a porshe, is an idiot. If its a boxer its a boxer, there is no debate, they look nothing like the 911' ors teh GT2s. And about getting a 2.0 over 200 w/ bolt ons is imposible. unless its a turbo kit. And when you bore and engine, the displacment goes up. Thats the idea. So if you bore it out your creating a higher litre engine. If you want to see a well built engince, look at the Honda S2000, 250hp stock out of a 2 litre. Good luck with proving your moronic claim turkish. and pics of you engine wont prove you make 200 hp. Give me a dyno sheet, then you can talk.

see if someone was going to post numbers like that, you have to post proper mods. Why would you say intake, exhaust and other mods? I think the style of writing proves that this is bulls***.

WHAT A TOOL THAT DUDE IS, i bet it was the guy who sold him the stuff told him his car has 200 hp now.
i hope for your own sake you dont talk in public.

 just because we dont have v8 and like 5.6l to pomp out like 300hp, we can do that win a 4clyder that's the beauty abour Japanese cars :p , we owrady got 140hp at the crank all we need is good intake, catback exhost, heder and some other miner mods you be pomping out 200hp, so shut tha **** up ,

Were you dropped repeatedly as a child? A good intake, catback exhaust and headers might get you 10-12 HP peak. My math tells me that makes about 150 HP, assuming you believe Mazda's claim that the MP3 makes any more power than the P5. A little shy of 200 methinks.

The MP3 can barely keep up with most traffic in a straight line... as far as blowing the doors off a Porsche Boxster... it's possible, although I seldom see Boxsters parked in the middle of a freeway...
