My MSP with Wings West EVO CF Hood...

its a wings west hood from wingswest.com, I think Mitch has it for 750 or something, thats where I got mine and eh hooked em up.

it used the OEM hood latch so no pins are needed although you do need to do a little dremeling to get the OEM latch to lock

Fitment

btw, did you have any or do you now have any kind of fitment issues on your hood? At first mine fit perfect, and I would latch it, and then press down on it above the latch to get it to lock. But after a few weeks with it, I popped it this one time, and when I went to close it, it was like an inch higher on one side than on the other when it was resting in the closed position. I looked at it for forever and couldnt figure it out and ended up dropping it from like 6 inches up to get it to lock since pressing down on it wasnt working anymore.

im assuming it has to be something to do with how the hood was torqued when I put it on and it must have been tweaked just a little bit to one side but I havent had a chance to really look at it.

Also, keep an eye on your bolts. I used the ones that came witht he hood to install it and when I popped my hood after a few weeks of driving 2 of the bolts were really loose from vibrations and the other ones werent too tight either

Ok, here's the dealio with the latch. Mine's had the very same problem when I first got it. It took me awhile to figure it out, but what I did was use washers to make the latch catch with the locking mechanism. I just put the washers on the screws in between the latch and the hood( I'll put up pics when I get my ca-ca digicam back if all this is confusing). As for the screws loosening on the hinges, thanks I'll check up on them, but if you didn't use thread lock, you will have issues like that. What sucked ass was my hood didn't come with bolts, so I spooled over to my nearest Pep-Boys and bought four "8 cast" type bolts. Strongest bolts I know. And the irony is my hood came with thread lock - Locktite 262.

Nice pics man. What kind of wheels are those on your MSP?

And that is the Wing West hood??

RH Evolution S7s on the rims, for which I must credit Phrisco.

the hood is indeed WW, and the grills on the hood along with the Wings West mesh in the bumper and in my autoexe REPLICA grill were all powdercoated flat black...if you have run your evo hood without the plexi then im sure you know how ridiculously hot those vents get. I cant imagine anything other than powdercoating could stand up to it.......

How much did the powdercoat cost you?

Also when I see the hood on the site it is painted. Does it come naturally all Carbon Fibre like yours? Any idea how much it weighs vs the stock one?
