my msp vs my brother new wrx 02

I went and test drove a stock WRX for about 40min and it is a sweet car, but its not that much quicker than the MSP and doesn't feel as nimble either...

I went on a test drive also (with out the salesman) I really didn't like the car. Not fast at all. The MSP feels faster then the WRX but both have top end pulling issues.:(

The MSP FEELS fast, the WRX IS fast. This has been written about quite a few times in the automotive press as well.

At least the MSP is a lot nicer looking:D

I also took a WRX out for a test drive, without the salesman, so I drove it hard for a bit. The thing has NO power below 3000 RPM, and then all of a sudden BOOM! you're pushed back into your seat with an incredible rush of acceleration.

How come I didn't buy one? Well, that power surge at 3K would be hard to get used to, plus I absolutely hated the interior.

First of all, why the hell would you rev to 6900rpm?

Second of all, a WRX weighs about 300lbs more than our car. An MSP is around 2800-2900, and a WRX is about 3150.

Try boosting at 13psi on our cars. :D You do get pushed back a bit when you put your foot in it.

then the MSP and WRX race again, only this time on a dirt road.... then who wins. :D

sorry Im just defensive towards the WRX... people keep saying.. "oh its not all cracked up to what it's supposed to be".. bla bla bla... but come on, its also not ever driven on what its supposed to be. For a car that costs a little over 20,000K that can be driven on or off road and still manage to beat an average amount of cars in a race, that is great!

FYI the MSP is 2846 and the WRX is 3085...difference of 239 lbs, not that much...

I have to say that I just test drove cars last week and bought my protege on saturday and subarus aren't even close to as nice as an msp. And, the sticker on my msp was $21k, and the base price on the 2004 WRX was $25,995. Thats a helluva price difference. The interior on the subaru is kinda crap. Its more of an engine with a car attached, while the msp is a full package. The WRX is a cool car, but $26k for a car without an interior....thats a little hard to swallow.
MSP's kick ass......

very true about the interior, but then again not too long ago i saw pics of a countach that had crank windows...me, i would be cranking all day...as for more reasonable cars with better engines than our proteges - i would deal with the interior to fly by people worried about their interior...as an all around car, i would want the nice interior...

You mean this one . My friends , I dont believe the crank even works. Might just be for show , lol.

akkk! such a beautiful exterior with such a blah interior. :o

Our MSP's are awesome in and out! :) That was one of the things i didnt like about the wrx and the eclipse, crappy looking interior.

I can't believe ppl give much of a chance to a high 14 second/low 15 car (MSP) agains a low 14 second/high 13 second car (WRX).

yeah, i test drove a WRX. It is a great car in its own way. Now the STI on the other hand.........

..................is a car that detonates from the factory

Yah, I'm very up in the air about the 2 cars. In case ya'll haven't heard, my mp3 is being totaled. should have a check tomarrow.

I'm either going to get an 03.5 m3p or a white 04 wrx.

I just can't decide. ofcourse the closest mazdaspeed dealer is a 2 hour drive for me. And then there is the fact that mazda service is for s***.

Kick me your opinions (un-biased) if possible, guys.
