Tonight on the way home from work I ran my one of my good friends. He has a 97 Integra GSR. He has intake, full Greddy catback, vtech controller, cams, cam gears, header and I think thats it. Anyway from a stop light to 90 i was at about his front wheel. He never pulled on me until we got in 3rd then he SLOWLY pulled. I am bone stock right now. My injen will be here tommorow. Do you think i'll fair better with the intake on. I also plan on a downpipe in the very near future.

hmm...nice. i think that the gsr would be putting down around 160 to the wheels if he started pulling on u @ 3rd gear...our cars put down anywhere from high 140s to low 160s i think someone mentioned on this bored...downpipe would be more beneficial since it frees up exhaust and could possibly add some boost

Acura/honda's have wicked third gears thats where all there power is. try racing him from a third gear roll with the turbo youll get the jump and stay ahead. Thats the only way i can beat modded gsr's.

Visa Versa, With a 96 GS-R. He had I/H/E and a 100Shot, but he never Purged on me. So it was based on who got the good launch. This is with my Brother-in-law's 02 SE-R with AEM CAI, Stillen Exhaust.

i have a 01 gsr stock for stock it feels a little quicker than my stock msp.
I think I should have been murdered, not off the line but top end. He has a lot of money in his car, nothing cheap, and everything is done right. I was pretty happy though, he said "that f*cker is quick". With the intake and downpipe I think it will be a little different story. I need the flash bad too, my car hesitates crazyily.
purging=spraying out air that has built up in the line before running so the nitrous is right up to the solenoids and there is no delay when spraying. that mist that you see people spraying is purgingtritonheat1 said:

and how well tuned is this gsr, gboromsp? did he just throw the parts at it or has he spent the time to tune his cam gears/vtec (note the lack of h) controller? cause if he just threw the parts on there without knowing what he was doing, he could be only slightly faster than stock with all that done, possibly even slower. he should be able to pull on you pretty well (especially 3rd gear) with those mods if his car is in a good state of tune.

so was he spraying? purge is not interchangable with spray/juice/squeeze etc..., and i think you're trying to say he wasn't using his nitrous, but if he was spraying and didn't purge there would be a delay before his nitrous hit because he would have air in his lines, so if it was a short race and he didn't purge and did use his nitrous it could still be a close race. i'm just a little confused with what you're trying to say

He didn't SQUEEZE ON ME. And if your referring Purging or purge as paul walker did in the SKyline in 2F2F that's not called Purging FYI:. Not to be a Dick but that is using a line as the Ricer's would Say. Watching to many movies. Purging/Squeezing/on the Bottle/ etcc.. is a slang for using=NITROUS/N02. As my Post above i said he had a 100shot, so doesn't that give you a clue or any idea. No he didn't use the Bottle=NITROUS, b/c if he did, like i said there is no chance i would win.

No offensepurging is a real thing, has been for decades, and has been called purging the whole time. i wouldn't try telling the camaro/mustang guys who are running 9's and quicker on nitrous that purging is a rice term. paul walker did do it in the movie i think (i dont remember, but i know that car has the ability to do it from reading writeups on it), the white mist that would have been sprayed before racing. you need a purge kit to do it, and if overused the action itself can become ricey as it is showoffy, but the term isn't. the mist sprayed out before racing is called purging the lines, it uses the pressure of the nitrous to force the air out of the lines so that the nitrous is right up to the solenoids so the system isn't spraying the air that is in the lines but rather fresh nitrous as soon as the solenoids are activated. it is a totally functional thing, but it does look damn cool too. if you search in the nitrous forum you can learn more about purging. purging is not slang for "squeezing," it is an entirely separate process. maybe people around you say that, but it is not correct. please read the nitrous forum (or at probetalk.com, their nitrous section has a pretty good writeup at the beginning i believe), i think it's time for someone else to brush up on proper terminology and less slang.

My friend also has a 97 GSR with similar mods and he runs 14.8 sec at 95 mph in the 1/4 mi. consitently. His car dynoed at 170 whp, but only like 125 wtq. Also in the freeway when he drops it ti 3rd at 70 mph, the car pulls like a MOFO to 90 mph where in redlines!! I raced him several times, and tell me tell you that if he's at 5000 rpm or above, he'll beat me.
I own a H22 accord with similar mods to the ones listed with the gsr. I also own a 2003 msp which is stock. I can tell you that my accord is way faster then the MSP. Like the person above me mentioned anything above 5000 rpm and my accord is gone. I also rolled on gsr's with similar set ups as mentioned. Honda's advanced timing and high compression gives it great high end. Its real hard for me to get used to the msp, but hopefully after i get a fmic an exhaust and boost controller the accord wont even be close.

bump, my friend just got a 98 gsr, it's bone stock, I can't wait to race him.
Let me say this i work for a honda dealership here in virginia dont get me wrong the integra and civic are quick. My buddy has a type-r with intake jdm header full exhaust JE pistons ported polished head and stage 2 cams and a lightend flywheel with a stage 4 clutch and when we race in the 1/8th mile i beat his ass all day long. When we race in the 1/4 its very close race. How ever on the street at 60mph he KILLS me too much top end im in 4th and hes just gettting out of 3rd when i hit 5th the gears in these cars are unbeliveable I have dyno numbers somewhere from his car he puts about 195- 200 to the wheel all motor car im putting about 210 - 225 to the wheel on 11 psi no fuel cut. his car weighs about 2600lbs mines is about 2950 with me in it weight is a big difference. Tell me what you think response is welcome.
