My mod path, some questions.

I have a 2006 MS6.

Mods:
Magnaflow catback.

I plan on either going with teh HT tuner, or Cobb AP. Leaning towards Cobb because I am thinking of gettin a Pro-tune done by Jorge of P&L. Or then again may just go the cheaper route with HT tune.Seems promising.

I am done with the extra noise, reason for me going to a MS6 from a SRT-4. So I do not want an intake, nor a forge BPV if I can avoid it. I will not be touching the downpipe as well.

So my mod path is STS, Rear diff brace, K&N filter and Copp AP.

My questions for you guys/gals is this. Since I am not putting an intake on, would I even benefit power wise from a TIP?

I have read mix reviews on the stock BPV leaking. HT said it holds boost fine, then heard other its leaks. With just basically being stage 1 pro-tuned, you think the stock BPV will be fine?

Was also contiplating and getting the HPFP upgrade, then getting protuned. WOuld this yeild more power as well? Or would just be safer?

And has anyone seen any gains from a pro-tune at all, I have searched and searched but have yet to find any results. Talking real dynos or track runs.(2thumbs)

Thanks.

your best bet would be cobb ap, iv maybe one person on here with the hypertech and i havent heard anything promising about that. Also even if you dont want noise, if you want to get gains, a cobb sri probably the quietest intake of them all and would open up the car more than just the drop in filter. You could also pair that with the cobb tip. I have read a lot about the oem bpv as well and some say it leaks but your best bet would be to monitor your boost levels with the ap or whatever you choose to go with but if you can stay with the bpv you can to save some mooooola. Just my two cents though

i now hold 17-18psi with the stock bpv. unsure if it leaks or not but i run the same afr's now as i did at 15 psi. i think its hit or miss, as is with all cars. Some cars complain of a smoking turbo, i have an early production car uncatted and i dont smoke, while running 5w30.

hpfp is going to be useless to you as a stage 1 classed car. you whouldnt exceed any of the limitations of the stack pump, and plus having the stock k04 and tmic you will most likely run into knock problems long before you ever run into the hpfp pressure dropping off.

I dont know what my car would sound like with the stock intake. it had some custom intake on it when i bought it. I swapped that out for a Fujita CAI and really liked the sound of the turbo spooling. Now I have a Corksport intake with turbo inlet pipe and its really quiet. I dont hear the intake at all not to mention throttle response is much better. Ill do any mods that remove turbo lag and improves throttle response.

I think you should also consider an ETS TMIC, no extra noise, makes power across the entire powerband. I also think the stock bpv is fine, if it holds boost dont worry about it. I see a lot of people having problems with various aftermarket bpv's too.
