SO last night I was looking over my car and I noticed a very small chip in the paint (in the rear driver's quarterpanel) accompanied by a tiny ding around it. My guess is that a rogue rock hit it. What's the best way to remedy this?

i got 4 dings all over my hood and roof. at school theres no parking spot so in a hurry a parked under an oak tree not realizing that my car got blasted with huge acorns. i was wonder what set my alarm off. now i have 4 dings that are very noticable when the car is clean.

I have a cluster of scratches from when I got egged once.. a chip over the rear left wheel well.. uhh.. a scratch under one of the handles, beat up rims (my mom used to rub those suckers on curbs like there was no tomorrow, but that was before I could drive stick) and a tiny ding in front of my left mirror..

Poor car x_X

got keyed(sp?) about 3 weeks ago, and i was too mad to even post about it... also before that, somebody actually took the time to unscrew one of my centercaps.... both incidents in the parkinglots of the college... o well...

dammit, that sucks. WHy are people such @ssholes? I'm getting my alarm put on asap.

Fixing it

Ok well here in Toronto, I have met this dent doctor. He doesn't drill holes, he some how pulls out the ding. It's really neat to watch, it's nto evne noticable after he is done.. it's like brand new... for the paint removal you have no choice but to use touch up paint....Look in your area or ask around for someone that removes dents.. ask your dealer sometimes they know....

To apply the touch up paint get your gf to do it.. it's almost like nail polish.. they are better at that then I am... LOL

The best remedy for the ding is: 20mm chaingun, flamethrower, or really any form of mass destruction device.

Oh sorry, I thought we were talking about retaliation...

Use the touch-up paint, I recommend buying a small brush...from a hobby/model store and apply the touch-up paint with this. You can fill just the chip that way and it makes sanding and buffing easier.

another PAINTERS trick for the application of touch up point is a match stick... a PAPER match stick....yep...it works so well too. it doesn't soak up a bunch of paint like a brush does.....and they are free. just rip it out...and you are ready to go. apply just a little bit...allow it to dry a day or two....apply some more....so that the entire chip is filled...after its totally cured...then get some REALLY fine wet/dry sand paper, sand it flat....then buff it out with some mirror glaze and you can't even tell it was ever there. :D
