Yes pointless, but gratifying. I probably wax mine about once a week. Then the next day I get sad because of all the freaking pollen all over my car.

No kidding about the pollen. The thing I hate about tire shine is that after a while your tires look like crap unless they are covered in it. They get that dull brownish color to them. I have been using Armor Alls Detailers Choice tire foaming tire cleaner. It doesnt build up like that and when washed off or rain gets it it just goes away, it doesnt build up. Most dressing are really bad for the tire actually. There is no true conditioner for tires they all just dry rott them faster than they would normally. Cars do however look a lot better with it on if you are detailing it.
