My Car....not the wife's P5

Well, just thought that I would post some pics of my car, this was orginally the wife's car too, but I took over it a few years back and started toying with it. It is ultimately the reason that I got into sport compacts and is also what got the wife into wanting a modified car :) I cannot wait to do my SR20DET and 5 Spd swap. Anyway, I know it is not a Protege, but let me know what you think of her.

P.S. The wing was ordered before TF&TF was ever released, so don't go flammin' me for it. I will probably change it sooner or later, motor swap first though.

when you upload you have to put them in a folder, if you don't put them in a folder it will make a folder with no name, which wont allow you to actualy view them - try specifying a folder name when uploading like 240, or something

Ok, I uploaded the pics to my files again, labeling the name of the gallery like Equinox suggested. It now seems that you can view the gallery and the larger image. Well, after all that, I hope somebody likes the damn thing :(

P.S. Here is the working link to the image gallery again:

great car and I love the stereo, I only wish someone around where I live could do something like that custom, how much did that system cost you, just to build the enclosure that is.

nice 240, i know a couple members on this site have them as a second car.

im getting a 1990 240 from my uncle for 700 dollars :). too bad its missing an engine, oh well i guess ive got to get an sr20det now, oh darn.

Hmmm, I cannot remember how much it cost me. Lemme think... Well, I paid about $105 for the tweed, prolly $35 bucks for the wood to build the enclosure and amp rack, probably have 3 cans of spray glue in it at about $8 a piece, other misc stuff was not much if I did not already have it laying around. Sooo, I would guess about $200 give or take a few bucks and I still have quite a bit of tweed left, I had other plans that have never been completed. Obviously, this does not include the cost of the equipment and as far as labor goes, well a couple hours after work each night for about 5 days and then a good Saturday and that was about it, that includes putting the TV in too and running cables. Thanks for the compliment by the way.

Cool, mine is a 1990 also. I will probably be selling my engine soon to do an SR swap, if your interested. It has been rebuilt with a .020 overbore and all Nissan internals including the oversized pistons. It has an auto tranny that will be coming out too.

hmm.... ive got the 5speed tranny from the old motor out of the 240, the engine blew on it and my uncle had other projects to work on so he didn't really car too much about it, ill talk to you about the motor when it comes out.

i have always liked the 180sx tailights better than the stock ones nice ride.....i have been looking for a s13 or a 1st gen talon for the last few days getting rid of the p 5.......... hope everything goes well w/ the swap...

btw- i LOVE the car! there's a guy at school with a white one with the silvia taillights, too. goodluck with the sr20det!!

SWEET RIDE! Very nice (thumb)

Looks like you put alot of work into her.

BTW... the wing matches the car nicely if you ask me.

sweet ride... but how in the hell did you get that box to fit in
the back. Almost looks like you put it together in the back.
Just curious.

Well, actually, your partially right. The amp rack was mounted in the car first. Then a smaller section that contains the cd changer and vcp was put in , then the box with the subs and playstation was put in. Then a small bit of framework was built to lock everything together and finally the panels that make everything look flush were covered in tweed and installed. I then made some panels that covered the rest of the existing floor area (cannot be seen in pics) with the tweed and the panel that allows access to the tail lights was also covered. As you can tell by the picture, the outside has had a lot done to it since I originally did the install of the stereo (been about 3 years) and it is looking like time for change. The headunit has been changed for some time, but I think the next hatch area witll be done in fiberglass. I have been toying with that a little and I think it's time to give it a shot, of course, that will be after the motor swap. I did my buddies trunk about a year ago, has 2 10" rockford . subs, two rockford amps, a lexan window that shows off a full size 18" spare, a lexan window that covers the distribution stuff and an oval window behind the seat that shows the strut tower bar. It turned out pretty cool. Ok, I'm rambling again, thanks for the compliment by the way.
