What would I use? Some fine steel whool and some sort of polish. It looks horrible after the winter. I dont want to mess it up anymore. Any sugestions?

Yes sorry exhaust tip. So just mothers mag polish and a rag will clean it up. Is it stainless steel? I guess Ill have to buy some then.

if those do not work you can always get some naval jelly (yes the name sounds wierd). used it all the time on the chrome on my bicycle when i was younger.

you should be able to find it at lowe's or home depot; some auto parts stores carry it too.

i never knew mother's mag cleaner would remove rust. it does an excellent job at polishing metal surfaces. learn something new every day.

wd-40 gets rust off

exhaust tip? i dunno
dont go too crazy with the WD-40
When the tip gets hot if it has WD on it the WD will begin to turn the chroms/stainless to a gold color- (the color of WD-40)

this is a desirable charictaristic of the lubricant - race cars teams do it on their exhausts to increase the metals heat cycle properties.
