Mustang 5.0

I wanted to ask a quick question since i dont know anything about Mustangs. A guy around town wants to race for 50 bucks but i just wanna race for fun really, but i would like to know what my chances are at beating an early 90s 5.0 mustang. I have a stock MSP and i ran a 15.2 at the track. He says he is stock other than running spray, but the race is supposed to be no spray. Anyone have a guess as to my chances?

Race him from an 85mph roll, their speedo's only go to 85 and I bet he will be to afraid to risk racing if he doesnt know what speed he is going

they changed it to 140 in 90 i think

i think and know from experience you can def take one of these from a roll he will get you from a dig though race him from a 20

plus the car has 13-15 years aging on the engine so if he can even pull off a 15 i would be surprised if he is still stock

Well from what i told he is bottle happy and likes to try and show off to people with it in all gears. So im just curious if his 4th gear sprays have damaged the engine at all. Guess we will just race for the hell of it cause i have nothing else to do. I don't mind losing, just fun to race.

A 5.0 is a damn tough motor, they last for 200K+ and run really well..

If he on using N20, you'll lose. Unless he just can't drive.

definately don't run him off the line, do a 40mph roll (in2nd) you have a better shot at takin him...

LOL. Well, maybe you should have mentioned that and the answers would have been different. At a dragstrip, you'll lose. Spraying on a mustang won't do jack to it, damage wise. Even if the Mustang was in bad shape, you'd still be hard pressed to take him.

starting at an 85mph roll will only help the stang, they make great torque.
