I saw that some one had red mud flaps on their Protege5 but I can't remember who it was. Anyone know where I can get good mud flaps for my car, they don't have to be red!
They are made by a company called Rally Armor. They don't make a specific application for the protege5 but you can get the universal ones and they look pretty good. Do a google search for Rally Armor and you will find them.
They werent a brand name, I think they were listed as "JDM Sport Mud Flaps" or something like that on Ebay - Had to be shipped in from Japan. They are a perfect fit to the body and come with screws that are supposed to screw into the fastener holes of the splash guard. They didn't work well and barely held them on securely so I drilled a couple of holes into the fender lip and a couple of self tapping screws held em on there nice and strong. Have been on the car for almost 2 years and have had no problems, even going through the occasional drive-thru car wash.
I looked at the rally armor flaps one set is $99 while the other is $15. The $99 set is supposed to be thicker but I don't no maybe the $15 flaps would work just fine. Any ideas?
I agree, unless you are planning on rallying your car I would say that $15 ones should be fine. Theres no way I would pay $100 for a set of mud flaps lol, mine were $40 I think after shipping.
i was gonna try the $15 ones cause theyre for street use.. and the $99 ones are for stronger abuse nd stuff. So its not possible to have them with my side and back lip? cause i really dont wanna take those off itll look too high off the ground IMO
I agree that they do stick out, but I absolutely love the look. Plus Ive added a red lip to the rims and red pin striping along the top of the doors, it makes the red flaps not so bold.
