msp2003 and a half?

thats right! could have posted this under silenttype23's thread hush hush but I wanted to catch everyones eye.
Here's the story I live in atlanta ga. Took a short trip down nopi nationals. looking at a few kid's mp3's and I run in to a guy wearing a mazdaspeed shirt. anyway to make a long story short. he's some big wig from mazda. he slips up and tells me that there will be 3500 msp,s built. I stop him because I thought there were only 2000. he tells me that there will be 2003 and a half model out in january, like silenttype23 siad. so I quary as to what the difference will be. and he asked me not to post this and yes he does know of this sight, cause i asked him prior. I said no I won' post it. yea right! color, the special edition miata colors, titanium gray and blazing yellow. what do you think of that sh*t? (sssh)

a mazda BIG WIG....running around in a MS T-shirt, leaking company secrets......yeah right......sorry....but I just don't buy it. I have a feeling that there is some guy at home in your area telling all his buddies about some guy at NOPI that he convinced he was a Mazda big wig.....

I don't doubt that its possible there will be a mid season release of a different color....but considering that the company has already released the limited production numbers for the 2003 MSP. I think they would be opening themselves to legal actions if they said....OOPS, WE LIED.....it would totally kill their credibility.

Of course Mazda is never going to stop producing high performance versions of their cars as long as they keep selling.. but it doesn't matter what color these cars are, it's not worth waiting all this time and paying more next time around when there's much more enthusiasm out there on the market (I'm sure..) :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Don't cry when better colors of cars and better cars come out, I'm already getting depressed I've only got a Y2K Protege now

But yeah, I'd LOVE to have a silver/graphite color of a mazdaspeed.. mmmm mmm mmmmmmmmmm

Yes, I talked to the dealer about it yesterday there wil be a 2003.5 release and the difference will be 2 colors, yellow and titanium.

You see more and more manufacturers doing this. Claiming that they'll release only a certain amount of a car per year. Then, before you know it, end up making more of them the next time around. Take the S2000 for example. Only about 4k to the U.S., then before you know it, they're sending over 5,500 of them here. They do it on purpose for the whole supply and demand issue. If the prices are higher for the Mazdaspeed, they'll be willing to sell more. But for now, they only think it's worth selling so many here in the U.S. I don't doubt they'll be adding more within the next year or so.

I talked to my dealer, and he said that if this mazdaspeed sells very well (which it will) then they will realease more in mid way through 2003.

At the rate mazda is going here in Canada the new colors will come out before they release the orange one. I was told Sept. 1 then Oct. 1 and now if I am lucky it will the end of Oct. or mid November before they release them here.
