msp vs mazda 6 takin a poll

From wut i've seen the MSP is faster, i've raced a 6 typeS and won by about a car, but that was an 1/8 mile. But i've never heard or seen a 6 beating a MSP

Maybe I was just wooed by the awesome torque and the feel of 235+ horses...I just checked and they are only running about a 14.5 1/4 mile - it comes down to driving I guess - but damn that car is hot!!!!

Are you sure it was a RX-8???

yeah - fuckingbright ass red it was one sponsored by a local bling bling shop that the dealership brought out to a sale event and were letting people test drive it. That car hauled ass!!! They said it was stock...but maybe not.......

Thats what I'm thinking as torque and RX-8 don't belong in the same sentance. Also most that drive it complain that anything but acceleration form a dead stop is piss poor.

Seriously... never driven a rotary without a turbo that I would describe as 'torquey' or even possessing 'adequate' torque...

MSP IMHO is better.....faster(obviously not in stock form) and better handling
though a supercharger for the car(6)will come out eventually, if nt already proabably cost you a bit and youll be up there.

MSP is much better. My rommate has a 6S and we took it to the track and could barely break into 16s. It is auto with the autostick.

GEt the standard, its faster, you can refer to the same magazine for that info.

Or, consider the MSP with an autostick.
YOu get the idea.

my friends mazda 6s auto (with ingen cai and grounding kit) ran a 15.7 the same day i ran a 14.8. I stomped him even when I was stock (on the street) after he got his intake he was about the same speed as me stock.

race a standard, otherwise ther is no comparison. YOu are racing the slower version of the 6S.

wow

Im pretty impressed with the response from all
...... 1st MP3 in NH

i understand the avg joe stick driver cant match up the numbers put up by these editors but still there are better drivers out there
that was really my point to the masses making statements that magazine this and magazine that............all in all thanks every1 for there opinion......
PS
PLZ LEAVE OUT THE RX-8 outta this
DIFFERENT CLASS!!!

Doesn't it also come down to the hp/weight ratio?

MSP - 2,843 lbs/170hp = 16.72 lbs/hp
6s - 3,241 lbs (auto-3,309 lbs)/220hp = 14.73 (15.04) lbs/hp
(based on mazdusa.com)

So, based on the numbers, shouldn't the 6s be faster?
But it looks like the MSP is geared higher...

i drove a 6s (manual) and my MSP back to back, both stock and the 6s felt stronger and a bit faster than the MSP from 0-60. i have driven a 6s quite a few times, and im pretty sure its a bit faster. it pulls through the gears slightly stronger and smoother than the MSP. it has more linear power so its easier to tell. as far as the handling goes, the MSP owns that category.
