MSP vs. Evo 8

My good buddy at work just traded in his Camaro SS for a new "Blue by You" EVO 8. That car is the s***. As far as power hands down the EVo wins but when it comes to the twisties I would say our cars definately keep up. We both did the "Seven Sisters" (Seven nice curves by the Loch Raven Reservoir) and I was able to keep up never getting less than a car length behind. One more thing. Our sound system is way better than the garbage Mitsubishi puts into their cars. I want the recaros bad though. The lancer is probably the best car you can buy for the money, in the price range of course.

Pictures dont do it justice at all, even I think it's ugly in pics. In person, I cant find those ugly angles...

There's an Evo in the town I work in.

It's the front end. It looks like Pontiac helped them design it. I like the STi much more. But; they are both tooooo much money. Plus; Mitsu is gouging on the price, big time.

The mazdaspeed is no match at all for the evo. The evo is built for power and will hold 500hp just as it sits. MSP owners would have to do serious rebuild before even coming close to the 4g63. Recently SCC did an article how the 4g63 is the best 4cyl engine ever made.

I would never buy a car that made Zero's regardless of the cars performance.

It does have its lines though, but those lines do not make up for the s*** rear brake lights. What junk!

STI is the way to go, if you want to spend 30 grand on a car.

I would stay away from Mitsubishi though! My sister-in-law dated this guy that worked for Mitsubishi Corp. and he told her never to buy one!

Well they are comparable, but Sloop I think your friend needs to work on his driving skills in the twisties. The reason I'd probably take the EVO over the Sti (besides the fact that EVO's MSRP is 28k, to Sti's 33k) is it's suspension. The rally tuned suspension in that mo fo is impressive. No, it's next to perfect. I read a review online by I think it was Car and Driver but they were comparing the best handling cars in the world. The EVO ranked 4th, below the Porsche 911 Turbo, a Ferrari, and some other exotic, but beating the M3, Carrera, Maserati, etc. Sti wasn't even on the list of cars that they had a review on, but they had a little blurb saying how they had checked the car out and it didn't compare.

The thing about the review that really caught my attention was how they claimed the EVO could handle a cone course going an average speed of 90m/h through the whole deal. Not only is that some sick driving to keep it there, but that thing has got to be a beast to handle like that.

I went to the local Mitsu dealership the other day and they had sold all of their preorders for the next month and a half at 5k above the market price (ie 33 to 35k) which I thought was a bit more than I'd pay, but if somebody wants it bad enough and won't wait for Sti, guess that's it.

I'll see if I can find the article I mentioned and if so post it but it was fairly random find so I dunno.

It's a better quailty car then either the Subaru or the Mitsubishi, in my opinion.

I wouldn't trust a Mitsubishi. They have a bad quality record. And; I'm not that thrilled about Subaru's.

i wouldnt bash on the evo. that car is amazing, and anyone that says otherwise should be shot. im in the proscess of tryign to sell my 6 month old p5 so i can buy an evo. the evo is sick in every way shape and form. and all of you that say it sucks should go see on in real life, i cant agree more that you cant find those "ugly angles" the car is beautiful.

all i have to say is that i drove this machine and was very impressed with the performance.
the look of it from up close is much better than i thought.
but like i said to many times its too much money right now.
i dont know about any where else but the market price aroun here as of today stands at $41,999 not including luxury tax and tags.
