MSP vs 2003 MAXIMA 3.5 SE

i have raced a new maxima..when i had my NX kit..on my car..jetted to a 50shot..and he still beat me..and he had an auto!

like 3-4CL's

And yea the track is only a 1/8 mile so i have a better chance with a shorter track?

The maximas are quick of the line as well, because of massive amounts of torque down low.

The altimas are a little bit slower than the maxima. The auto version did 15.1 i believe while people have seen 14.6-14.7 on the manual version. They are also underated from the factory. 1/8 would probably not yield you any benefits.

Btw, someone just hit 13.95 on a 350z which weighs 3200 pounds. The maxima manual and the 350z put down almost identical whp with the edge to the z. The maxima weighs about 200-300 pounds more and by factoring aerodynamics, it should be around mid 14s. If the maxima had the same drag coefficient as the 350z, it should be running 14.2-14.3 which I don't think it has been done yet. 14.5-14.7 is more realistic.

I have two friends with maximas
DAMN they are fast
you could almost garantee that you will lose that race
it is just they have a way powerful engine than the MSP
but it is still worth a shot if you just want to have fun with him

14.2s has been done with a 2k2 6spd maxima. 13.8 with a 2k2 6spd with a catless full exhaust and an intake on stock tires I think.

I had a 95 maxima se 5spd...it wasn't nearly as powerful as the new ones, but it was a fun car...

I think with a few mods u might be able to keep up with him..

The New Maxima's 6-speed are identical, In performance wise as a 03 Accord Coupe V-6 6-speed. So yeah the Only way you'll beat the maxima is if it is the year below the 2001's. From my butt dyno and what i have seen is. I saw a 98-99 Grand prix GTP lose to a 2000Maxima SE 5-Speed, by like halfcar to 1car. My 6S could beat a GTP on a roll, never raced from a Start. Like someone else said, on here order Joe P's MBC for $40bucks and turn it up to 10-12psi and you'll be fine.

Man.... i know i should order the Boost controller. But is there any other boost controller out like computerized or sumthin? mean like so i can krank up the boost from in the inside of my car

You can get an Electronic Boost Controller, but they're much more expensive and you can't really easily remove it for trips to the dealer like u can a manual boost controller...Besides, I don't think you want to 'krank' up the boost too much w/ the pisswater 91 octane we have out here in Cali..

u might keep up with him if you're lucky and you get a good launch

yeah, race the 03.5 maxima
as long it is between a friend, it should be fine
be sure it is not in a crowded area though
