David Larose took 8th at the Toledo Solo II National Tour in his yellow MSP, with a total time of 100.149 on Yokohama A032Rs. First place was Mark Daddio (the Alien) with a total time of 98.975 on Hoosiers. That's 1.174 seconds ahead. Do you think the Yoks give up 0.6 seconds to the Hoosiers on a 50 second course? I think that's within the realm of possibility! That means that a relatively unknown driver in an MSP, having two good days, could give a four time National Champion a run for his money in DS. Way to go David Larose!!!! (rockon)

haha, an srt-4 beat an msp in auto-x, guess you guys can stop with the "srt-4 is only good in straight" arguement?

the guy had h00siers ! those things are sticky as hell...you could drive up the side of a building with those on ! haha, just kidding, but i think the GRM SRT-4 had some noteable suspension upgrades/or tuning to be able to do that well. also, i think the power helped a ton in exiting corners.

its stock class guys....u cant have any suspension changes besides different shocks........and from what i rea din my lastest grm, the hoosier they had were gettin sidewall scuff from the shittin stock zero camber from the srt-4 but still pulled infront of everyone......racing slicks owns

no...it was street tires that owned the msp....simple....u put a msp and srt-4 with the same tires and same driver....u think the srt-4 is still gonna win

the GRM changed out the front* sway bar. they added a hotchkis bar 29mm

*edited ! i'm stupid

guess it couldn't be something as easily as the Driver of the car? What would be cool is to get Mark Daddio to take a stab at running David Larose' MSP around the same track. If you read GrassRoots web page on setting up they were still running stock shocks but had upgraded the bars, camber, anything they can do to stay in the gray area of the SCCA Racing.

yeh i know i takemy car to autox events with out adjustin a damn thing...orignal alingment, tires and all and am within 1 sec of hoosier shrouded wrx's and type r tegs.....no point in throwing mud.....grm preped that car very good and had a awesome driver behind the wheel

are you serious ? you're within 1 sec of the WRXs and ITRs with hoosiers ? that's pretty damn good !

The tires was the only thing? Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with this one. Yeahhhh.

Yes, I think same driver (Daddio) driving an SRT-4 over a MSP will win in the Neon. Would it be close? Yes. Any car in DS would be close to his time in the Neon if he were driving any of the cars... also assuming same level of prep(hence.. he's the Alien) However, he knows more about how to drive a neon than an MSP... knowing the mans history. :) He was driving and nationally competitive in a turbo neon a couple years ago, in case you didn't know.

The winner will be Daddio in the Neon. ;) (He won Mazda Rev It Up last year... and he's going back again this year too)

Mark Daddio could drive a milktruck around that course faster than i could a Z06. It was a very impressive drive, that SRT-4/Daddio combo took out some really good drivers. I must say that Yellow MSP shocked me. I was putting my money on Jack Burns in the top with John Souder in the Black MSP right behind. But that crazy canadian put the smackdown and ended up in the trophies. Good show!

The GRM SRT-4 has a different FRONT swaybar (not rear) and has Dodge spec crash bolts for a total of 1.1 degrees of negetive camber. Thats it. Struts were OEM. They hope to have Koni's in those struts before the Peru tour.

Don't think for a second that you're guaranteed to see that SRT-4 in the lead at Nationals this year. Toledo was a really good turn out but there are some pretty serious 330ci's and Type Rs left for him to overcome before Daddio can take that car to victory. I'm excited to see him do it though.

Don't confuse autocross results with car capability. The reason the 330ci, IS300, Type R, MSP, SRT-4 and others are in DS is because they are all very competitive to each other between the cones. There's haters for all those cars but if Daddio drove them all in succession that day you'd see some pretty equal times.

I beat a D Mod Lotus 7 on slicks the other day... you'd be suprised how prepped some cars are that come to play before the driver can take full advantage of that speed. SS Corvettes on Hoosiers running slower than my STX car is a common occurance. Dosn't mean my car is faster. Everybody learns how to drive. Just some people have more money during that learning process than others.

Single day results mean very little... its trends that mean the most. Look at how Daddio did in Florida at that tour... not very good at all. Got his clock cleaned. But they continue to develop driver and car every weekend to make sure it dosn't stay that way. What you have there is a very good combo in DS running very much outside the norm. Its a good thing.

If you need any proof that it was the driver and not the car, take a look at where the co-driver of the SRT-4 finished.
