Ever since I saw Vodopass' (is he still on this thing?) tail lights, I've been thinking about getting them. This was well over a year ago and... well, I finally decided to bite the bullet and order them. Tail lights are probably one of the worst things you can buy for a car since they're purely aethetic... and more often than not, look worse than stock.

That's my dilemna now... From the "don't know what you got till it's gone" category, part of me is going to miss my stock lights if I make the switch. Granted, I could always replace them but.... before I even go through the trouble, I'm looking to get a few 'second oppinons' on this. If I end up staying stock... since I haven't taken these new ones out of the box yet, I'm sure I can get a refund. So now's the time to decide...

The lighting pattern at night looks "chintzy" with the APC ones, because that's the style they are going for. Aside from that, they should .. work? As you said, they're purely aesthetic.

that is definately a tough call...they both look good. what did you mean by chintzy?

My style is my favorite. And there aren't too many people with 'em, which makes 'em even better. :D

I haven't seen them yet at night... but that's a good point. I wonder if there are any pics of them at night floating around.

The light pattern is.. just not high quality. Think the taillight style of the 02-06 (well and the 07 too) Nissan Altima taillights, where there is the round circle of light with the dark area in the middle. That's the look the APC taillights strive for, but they don't do it well.. they come off looking much more like the Hyundai Elantra knockoff of that Altima style.

it's hard to explain I guess

no... that pretty much does it. definitely not the look I was going for so I guess these pups are going back to apc

I would say other. I like these tails personally, BUT I would paint the housing black instead of CF.

Not as bad as I thought...

I was going to try and find a picture of some stock lights but... duh... I can just look at my car!

Is it just the light pattern that you don't like about the APC ones? I'm not sure that you ever said exactly what about the APC tails makes you hesitate.

Personally, I don't mind the light pattern of APC tails. It's the blaring white strip at the bottom, where the turn signal and reverse lights go, that makes me crazy.

Blue Batmobile makes tinted overlays for just that section .. It's one of the routes I was considering before I finally found my tinted stock tails.

Then again, I'm a tinting freak of nature -- you can never have too much! -- so maybe I shouldn't say anything, haha.

It's interesting you say that... cuz that's what initially drew me to these in the first place. Because of the color difference in our cars though, I can see why they wouldn't look nearly as good on yours.

Anyway... I'm still torn. I think I made too hasty a decision so I'm going to send em back. I paid $140 for them (shipped) and, based on some of the threads I found, there's no way I'd get anywhere near that if I tried to sell them on my own. (even if they're still NIB) So now's the time. Thanks guys

LOL Well I THOUGHT I got the best price (at $140 shipped) but... who knows? Anyway, if you're in the market for these and can't find a price lower, let me know.
