I have a shortshifter meant for a regular protege that I had on my mazdaspeed protege wich I uninstaled since i cut and welded my stock mazdaspeed shifter for much shorter shifts......the trannys are practicaly the same between each models using the same mechanisms for shifting
I cut about an inch or so from the top side of the shifting point and added it to the bottom of the shifting point from the stock mazdaspeed shifter wich is already prety short....shifter moves much less between shifts and I've yet to miss a gear
