msp running lean

Betcha he got a narrowband A/F. All a Narrowband A/F gauge will do is show your cross counts of your O2 sensor, and when you jump on the throttle the PCM going to a rich condition. Not accuarte at all.

No, it is usually moving around w/ my narrow band. never real lean except when downshifting and letting it slow down. then and only then is it lean.

I have, but its not a problem because theres no load on the engine. I found a vacumn leak near the FPR that would cause the car to run lean but after pluging that up it someitmes runs a bit lean durring idling...this is with a WBO2. most of the time it stays around 14.7-15.1 after shifiting in netural...before it would creep up to 18. again after pluging up the vacumn leak near the fuel pressure line (where the profec E-O1) hooks up to. Solved the lean code I got at WOT. But idle its fine with very rare A/F ratios in the 16-17s

Now it would be a concern if you ran lean at WOT. Besides your car will protect itself and throw a lean code while pouring fuel in...so you will know if it really did run lean.

get rid of the narrow Band O2...a waste of money. invest in a WBO2. I recommend PLX if your on a budget.

what mods do you have installed? i ran REAL lean after installing my fmic. i had to do a MAF relocation. afterwards i ran fine.

anyone have any troubles with thier msp running extremly lean at low rpms?

this may sound dumb, but i brought my car to Swift Motorsports when kept getting a check engine light. He hooked it up and the code came up that my msp was running lean.

they replaced the spark plugs and no more problem

though, they could of lied to me and i wouldn't of knew, but i hope it helps you out.

yes I am running a narrow band a/f but at like 3500 rpms the gauge bottoms out and stays untill I hit the gas
If your foot is off the gas and you are coasting in gear, the engine doesn't need any fuel. I think the ECU might even completely cut off the fuel injectors in this situation. This is normal. If you press the throttle even the slightest bit, it should go back to hovering around 14.7 AFR

Sure it can happen. I can tell from my dyno pulls that I get scary lean below 3750 rpms. I've also noticed a nasty stumble that occurs sometimes going uphill under medium boost and light load and below this rpm, and I attribute it to an overly lean condition. The DSM AFC is my next mod.

this is pretty much the same thing happening to me. the only mods I have are a mbc 3" exhaust and a cai.I'm going to put a adjustable fuel pressure regulator on tomorow see if that fixes the problem.
