Where did you buy yours, and how much? Looking for a Profec B (not spec 2).

As soon as i come up with the money ... im buying one ... keep them at that killer price. All the local stores here want 358.00 for them. If i just didnt pay for a vegas trip i would buy one today.

You really really want that Profec B - Non spec II model ... dont you. Why?
IMO the Spec-1 version is better. It is simpler to adjust. Just set and go. Plus like DS said it works great. I've had mine to 15psi too with no spikes.

it worked!!!!!! at the same settings i was at, im now running 7psi first stage and
spiking slightly to 9.5 and holding at 8 psi in second stage. i ended up only having drill the brass part of the boost control out with a 1/16 drill bit. boost spike is pretty much all gone.
so now that its taken care time to turn up the boost!(headbang) s***, ive only been running 9.5 psi on high boost setting this hole time. i just turned it up to 12psi and it fills really nice. 1/4 track here i come.......

Have you noticed any decrease in spool up time? Not that it was ever very slow, but just wondering because that is a side effect of drilling too large of a hole.

not that i can tell.....i need to drive around some more and do some more test pulls.(eekdance) btw, i really didnt have to drill out the mbc much at all.

i had a friend with the joep kit on his msp...he fried his turbo due to the boost spiking like that...i'd take it off if i were you.

Boost spike won't cause a turbo to fail.

This post helped me out a lot. I didn't know all the differences between Manual and electronic Boost Controllers. Thanks for the help everyone.

Point being, go electronic. Its not worth the risk of a MBC. Or is it? It is your cars, but we are just trying to help.
