MSP Market in Ohio

Sunlight Silver MS2 #1758
Pulled the trigger yesterday and added a silver MSP to the stable.

There are about 20 still available in Ohio (most are yellow) and I was surprised at the wide variation in internet quotes I received from 6 dealers (the range was in excess of $2000.00), the highest of which was here in Columbus.

Best prices were in NW Ohio and I purchased from Brown Mazda in Toledo for $16, 074.00 - good folks there, highly professional and very courteous. Actually could have gotten a slightly better price on a yellow one at another store.

Discovered this fine site today and have been busy soaking up information. So nice to find such a valuable resource.

Now all I have to do is keep my 18 year old son away from the MSP....

If anybody wants a blue or a sunlight silver....Park Mazda in Wooster, Ohio, they got alot of MSP.....thats where i got mine
prices range probly no more than 17,000

Thanks for the warm welcome, folks.

LOL, no, 'Sploder, there is NOTHING wrong with being 18 but if he gets ahold of it, I probably wouldn't see it again because he is already in love with it!

Well, silverturbozoom, I talked with Park Mazda. They quoted me $17,049.00 last Friday but then a significantly HIGHER figure (like $17,600.00) on Saturday (saying their business year had ended). They had 4 yellow ones in stock but no other colors.

Welcome. There are a few other Columbus MSP's around (Including me, although I won't be in Columbus again until April)

I got mine at Park Mazda and so far I love it. Tri-C, did you try Byers Columbus? I refuse to buy anything from them after being there, just wondering if you had the same experience.

Thanks, Mallard. Of the six Ohio dealers who I sent emails to, Byers was the highest price quoted (by a significant amount). They had 3 yellow ones and a bunch of P5s. Apparently they are not real anxious to move stock.

I will, no doubt, get to know their service department over time.

I bought mine from Bedford MAzda about 2 months ago from Chris
Though I have had some problems with their customer service. I was in Cleveland for 3 weeks working and picked it up for around $16,500.

Yeah when I went there the week before Thanksgiving they had those same 3 yellow ones on the lot. He said he wouldn't budge from 19,000 (Sticker minus the rebate) When I told him I knew people that were getting really good deals and I told him exactly how much I wanted to pay for the car, he told me I was crazy. I went to Park Mazda the next day and got it for the same price I asked for at Byers. And the kicker was I didn't have to hassle, they gave me all the discounts and I didn't have to say a word.

If I ever have to go to Byers for service I will be sure to point out the Park Mazda lisence plate frame.

Byers must have seen the light, Mallard - they quoted me $18,263.00 last weekend <shakes head>.

congrats on the new car... let your son take the car on friday nights, just limit him to like 50 miles or something, and write down the mileage on the odo. :)
The girls will love him, and he'll love you for it. :D
For even more fun, for less than 200 bucks, get a simple boost gauge, an MBC, and a k&n cone filter.

Had mine for a year 13months today and I still owe 18k. Thats what I get for trying to get the first one in Ky.(I did)

LOL, well maybe when it gets warmer. Although he knows next to nothing about cars, he is already talking about mods!

I feel for you as I went through a similar thing with an '01 PT Cruiser - paid top dollar, then the market collapsed and I bled to death when I traded it in.
