Hey guys. I've had this new JVC HU for about a year now I guess. It's model KD-SH707. It plays mp3s or corse. It looks like:

Now here is my question. In your opinion, do you think the JVC is better than the MSP kenwood? I like the kenwood... especially how clean it looks in our cars, but I always hear people complaining about it. What bad experiences have you had with your kenwood? The JVC I orig. bought it for a crv, but never put it in. It's still brand new in the box... just opened to look at the face plate. Never installed, etc... you know the drill. Depending on what there is to be said about the kenwood, I'll consider all offers on the JVC for either a sale or trade into the kenwood. Thanks for the help guys.

I think the Kenwood is a pretty good head unit. Once in a while it freaks out nothing the reset button wont fix. It has all of the features that I want.

I feel that the JVC is a much better head unit than the Kenwood. Kenwood is not known for their reliability. I also feel that the JVC is easier to navigate around with.

That's an older JVC, but it's a good model. I don't know if it has all of the features of the Kenwood, though...seriously...the Kenwood is an upper range model that was like 350-400$ when it was new. Crossover control on the outputs, 3 4.5V preamp outs, good CD SN ratio...it's not a bad unit at all except for the freaky reliability. If you have reliability issues with it, then I'd say give the JVC a try...but, beyond that, I believe it's capable of more than the JVC is.

I've never had a problem with the kenwood.. although I'm getting someone to buy it from me for $300 *evil laugh* :) anyways, I've never heard anything good about JVC.. so based on that I'd say that the kenwood one is better.
