I wasn't sure how this car would do in the winter, but so far so good. I have steelies and Blizzaks and it handles fine in the ice and snow. The only real test was to wait for the cold...and DAMN did it come last night. The official temp was -28, though at the time I didn't know and was wondering why my car was so sluggish when starting. It barely turned over at first, and then slowly started after several cranks.

This is the first time I've had a car start up when the temperature was so low without being plugged in.

Also, there are several MSPs sitting on the lot at the Mazda dealership in Missoula, MT as of last week. If anyone in the area wants one, this is the time.

Brrrrrrr.

Damn it's 38F here today and my bushing squeaks were horrible, I can't imagine what it sounds like at -28.

PS - spiking 9 PSI today in 35-40F and no fuel cut.

The bushing squeaks were horrible, yes. They just never went away. Usually they'll squeak for a few minutes until I get to the highway, about 1 mile trip or so. But they squeaked almost non-stop for 25 miles on my way home. Every little bump in the road sounded like a bunch of mice were having an orgy. It was crazy.

We're getting our first taste of sub zero weather later this week according to the weatherman. The MSP has held up fine in the single digits so far. The squeaking does get worse, but I don't really mind.

Yeah, I don't mind much either. I just hate how the snot freezes in my nose...ick. I'd take squeaking bushings any day.

I've some ass cold wheather here too. At one point a while ago it hit like -16(not bad) and the car started no problem. Go to start my moms van, and it took a good few cranks to get her going. I've heard it's supposed to get alot colder here, and Can't wait to test how it does really cold. The good thing about having a really hot engine bay, is once the car is warm, you don't have to worry about heat, that's for damn sure!!! At points, it gets so ******* hot I have to turn the temp to right in the middle of red and blue, and crack a window for a minute to disapate some of the heat. Its crazy.

Why are the bushing squeaks so bad in the cold? Is it their hardness or what?

Got you guys beat

Well.....-34 degrees celcius (~48 degrees celcius with the Windchill factor). It's damn cold in the Canadian prairies.

I keep the car plugged in; it's turned over on the first turn, but labored.

The crunch from the front bushings will simply not go away....even after the car is "warmed up" in these frigid conditions.

I'm satisfied with the Heat the MSP provides...better than my old 2000 Civic SiR.

The rear bushings (E's) have still been quiet for me. Cross my fingers....

It was cooler here this morning (8 degrees F) and when I pulled out of the driving, the car sounded as if it was cracking from an ice block. The tires where a little wet last night and felt like I was driving on square tires for the first block or so.
