Here's the official Mazda numbers for the Mazdaspeed Protege Factory manuals:

FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL: 9999-95-017B-03
WIRING DIAGRAMS: 9999-95-019G-03

No pricing yet, as Mazda Customer Service says that it is up to our dealer as to whether or not they will sell us these manuals. I called my dealer and no pricing was found in "the system". I'll let you know what I find out.

Oh, I was told these are the latest regular Protege manuals which include the Mazdaspeed.

very, very cool. keep us updated i would love to have the wiring diagrams...or hell...both of em

Here's the prices my local bandits, errr...dealer parts department, wants for the manuals:

Factory Service Manual: $$$137.00
Wiring Manual: $$$85.00

Anyone have better pricing?

sounds about right. ive read people paying 150 for the service manual for the mp3

does anyone know how they are bound?

we have mega document scanners at work that automatically make PDF files.

I just emailed my friend who works in the parts dept. @ Mazda. I'll see what he can do...

Oh yeah...one more thing. My dealer's parts department says the manuals are on back order. No idea when they become available.

How about the parts info? Is this available? On CD? microfiche? How much?

Thanks for the help, fellow Mazdaspeeders.

I have the old protege manual in PDF as well as this new one.

Which new one? 2003 Protege? with Mazdaspeed pages? Please check the manual numbers and compare them with the one's I posted in the first post. If you have the latest manual and wiring diagrams, you are gonna be one POPULAR Mazdaspeeder! :D

Here's a thought, although it may or may not work:

The manuals for an MR2 are really expensive as well, if you go through a dealer or otherwise "normal" channel.

However a few people, myself included, thought ahead: what if you skip the middle man?

We found out who the printing/supplying company to Toyota was, and contacted them directly. We were able to get the 3 manual series (Body, Engine & Electrical) for $120 total, including shipping.

If someone can find out who the printing company or supply company is for the Mazda manuals, we can call them and see what they charge. It might be worth the effort...

You know how come the service manual didnt come with our car?
the service manual is typically meant to be read by service techs, not the average consumer. the owners manual is a different beast altogether, nowhere near as detailed.

someone should really try and set up a group buy for manuals
or someone who works at mazda could check a manual and see what the publishing company was
