Just got finished reading a comparison in this months issue of R&T SPEED magazine (unfortunately after 7 issues they axed the publication for online only (notcool) ) The MS6 came out on top over a Legacy GT Spec B. and an Audi A4 2.0T in last place. It was a pretty good article though the Subi and MS were very close. As far as price, the MS was the cheapest at $3k less than the Subi and $13k less than the Audi. I don't know who Audi thinks they are, but $42 grand for a 4 banger? You got to be kidding me, you would have to be crazy to spend that kind of Dough on a car like that. Anyway, Motor Trend also has a MS/Subi comparison in this months issue but I haven't got a chance to read it yet.

This months C&D had a comparison test between the ACURA TSX, Honda Accord, VW Jetta, MSP6, and a Potiac G6 GTP(?).

The finish order was:

5 Pontiac
4 Mazda
3 Honda
2 Acura
1 Jetta

The Honda and Acura might be reversed. The two negatives for the Mazda were lack of refinement (fit/finish/materials) and engine noise (cruise/WOT).

3 acura
2 Honda
1 Jetta

They had a base 6, no leather, no nuttin. They could have at least mentioned that all of that was an option. My father has the accord, coupe version...not even in the same league imho. I was surprised it pulled a 5.9 to 0-60 though.

The Acura is nice, but the jetta is just super ugly.

The Mazda was obviously the quickest... I think.

I read your post on the other thread, I cannot believe they put this group of cars together. A person that is looking at an Accord is not going to buy a MS 6. The VW is in a different league, what about the Passat? The G6 has a bad interior and an underachieving motor. The TSX is a great car but a NA 200 hp does not compare to a 274 hp turbo. The MS is built for speed not luxury. I also cannot believe they didn't include the Legacy GT, it is by far the closest comparison to the MS6. I guess maybe they couldn't get their hands on one. Oh well, we all know that the MS6 rules and that is all that matters. Zoom Zoom baby!

Oh Yeah, they didn't include a Passat because it is a ******* rip off! $26k for a Jetta is bad enough.

Yep speed, turbo tmic, 4 cyl over 2.0L ,and awd is the comparison points for the cars IMHO and the rest is users taste. I have a friend who hapens to traded his lapis 6i in for the legacy gt and just sitting in the seats are night and day.

lol you might as well thrown mine in there!

Apples/Oranges comparo IMHO

Totally agree. A ******* ponitiac vs a TSX? Man oh man, C&D are just getting worse. It's like the couldn't find any other cars and just slapped together a review last minute.

It does go to show just how f'd up the market pricing is these days though. All of them being around 30k.

they're all ~$30k sport sedans. why is it so weird? and don't say, "no one would consider a G6 GTP and a TSX," b/c i know more than one who has.

99% of people don't shop for, "sedan, AWD, 6-speed, turbo TMIC." car guys who spend time posting on internet forums might, but we're a SMALL portion of the market.

most people say, "i got ~$30k to spend. i need 4 doors. i want a little fun on my commute and a manual transmission." those cars fall into that category. those are the cars most people are going to cross-shop.

if the former were how it should have been arranged, the group might have looked like: MS6, STI, EVO, A4 Quattro. the first 2 even have a TMIC.

although i'm also surprised there was no LGT.
