I am looking to replace my MS CAI with a COBB SRI on my speed6. To anyone who has recently purchased one, where did you get it? It seems to be sold out at most places. This store called Mazdaboys has it? Has anyone ordered from them? Pretty good price at 175. Let me know. Thanks

Never heard of them but there are a lot of Cobb dealers out there. Maybe someone else can chime in...

Talk to Ken at www.ProtegeGarage.com, head to cobbtuning.com, therpmstore.com, corksport.com and several others. I've done a lot of business with PG with great success so I tend to recommend them over others.

i've seen that mazdaboys website to. but it seems iffy to me. keep an eye in the FS section. thats were i got mine.

yes there are several forums that support this platform. and all offer a market place section.

and just fyi, you can use ms3 intakes. i used to run an ms3 cpe nano. rigged the mount up to work and everything.

Thanks for the info guys. Is there any difference between the standard COBB SRI and the SU COBB SRI. Is the quality of silicone the same? I was looking at getting the SU because it comes in black, I just want to make sure I am not sacrificing any quality in doing so. Let me know. Thanks

Wondering the same thing.

you gotta think cobb would'nt let a company cheapin they're product just so they can put their name on it. besides its not on a pressurized side of the turbo so as long as its a least 4 ply silicone it should be plenty strong for an intake.

Colors available and lettering on the intake (to include SU) are the only differences.

hit the nail on the head

installed SF a few days ago . . .

Had mine installed a few days ago . . . lovin' it!!

There is definitely added performance (SOP), better throttle response too. The weather's been really crappy here, so today was the 1st day I've driven with my window open; what an interesting sound it makes when accelerating!

BTW . . . when I had a closer look at the install, is that OK that they didn't remove the lower part of the oem intake/airbox? Should be fine I think?

cheers

i left the lower part in too. and its been fine. though in the winter i cover the hole cuz it seems to spray crap right on the filter. i'll prolly remove it sometime. but its not dire need.

Custom fmic will help to plug that space :)
