Hey Guys,

Well I finally got my MS6 COBB SRI to replace my MS6 CAI. The problem is since I don't have the stock airbox, I don't have the piece that goes into the small nipple on the COBB blue silicone piece. Does anyone have one of these to sell or know the part number? In the meantime I am running the Cobb intake, using the MS6 piece in replace of the COBB blue silicone piece. Does anyone see any issue with this? Sorry I don't know the correct terminology for all these parts. Still kind of a noob =) Thanks in advance for the help!

Here is a pic of my current intake setup and no CELs yet =)

His looks like a Cobb MAF and fliter with a shortened MSCAI. IMO

That is exactly what mine is currently. Like I said in my original post, since my car didn't come with the stock air box, I didn't have the piece to put in the small nipple on the Cobb blue silicone piece. It was either hook it up like this or re-install the MSCAI.

Yep, it won't cause any problems at all.

Thanks for the input. Yesterday I replaced the MSCAI part with the Cobb blue silicone piece and tapped/secured the Cobb nipple with the vacuum line that leads to the intercooler since I don't have the 90 degree piece that comes with the stock intake. (See pic) Hopefully this will hold until I can get the 90 degree plastic piece. I really wish Cobb would supply all the parts required regardless of what intake you had on previously.

FYI..I will be posting the MSCAI for sale soon..

Does anyone see any issue with the above setup. Cars seems to be running well with no CEL. Let me know. I also added 2 more worm clamps on both sides of the 2 worm clamps in picture.

Thanks, I will look into it. I actually re-plumbed it with a 90 degree plastic piece I got at Napa. I think it is pretty close to the stock configuration now.

Just curious, what is the function of this vacuum line?

Now always. Google "boost leak testers". Definatly worth the money.

You can also build one yourself for like $15, and you can find all the necessary parts in the plumbing section of Lowes/HD. If this link doesn't work http://forum.***************/mazdaspeed6/219844-how-find-boost-leak.html just go to 6club and search "How to Find a Boost Leak," and it should come right up. I made the same one, and it works great. Disconnect the breather tube, and cap both it, and the hole it plugged into in your intake. Take off cone, and attach pressure/boost leak tester there. By doing it this way, you are pressurizing the entire system, so you will find both boost leaks, as well as vacuum leaks, which can be much more dangerous. If you have a boost leak, your engine is expecting more air than it gets, and you run rich. However, if you have air getting sucked in through a vacuum leak (I had this problem before), your car is getting unmetered air in, and as a result run dangerously lean. Definitely buy or put one of these together. Cheap $$, and you'll be able to find any leaks quickly, plus you can use it again and again!
