They're terrible, every time i hit mid-high boost and then let off throttle, the whole engine jumps. I know that this has been stated before but maybe i broke one of my mount already? or is it really just this bad?
Well, it's simple... the more free-play in engine mounts, the less vibration / shock will be felt in the car, thus a smoother, quieter, more "luxurious" ride. Or vise-versa. Take your pick.
I'd think that if you beef up the engine mounts to a significant degree, you will definitely feel it in the car... for better or for worse. I'd think that tighter mounts will add a little more "bite" to the feel of the car, might be nice in terms of performance vibe, but will increase vibration and general "jerkiness" (like when you throw a sloppy shift, etc).
I had two motorcycles once, very similar to each other, same engines, one had solid engine mounts, the other had rubber engine mounts. Each one had it's strengths and weaknesses. The one with the solid mounts did "feel" a bit quicker (even though it wasn't), because every move you'd make was that much "sharper" feeling, very "immediate"... but this bike DID exhibit extra vibration and jerkiness which was not welcomed for long trips.
The one with the rubber mounts clearly yielded more of a smoother, more "cushy" type ride / feel, very comfortable, but it was obvious that the engine was a bit "detached" from the bike when you'd be pushing it hard. The engine felt a tad bit more "removed" from the situation, less "bite". But, this bike was wonderful for long trips, I ran it 8600 miles in 2.5 weeks one time.
Again, a matter of personal preference. Have no comment on the MS3 yet as I still have not yet "beat" on it. I am not noticing any problems with it though, engine feels good. It may be a bit on the "soft" side, but for me, daily driving in traffic etc, this may be a good thing.
I installed these inserts and I am very happy with their performance.Mounts between the two vehicles are identical.
If you want the best of both worlds between the softness and daily driveability of the rubber and the response of a urethane, our motor mount inserts are a simple installation and function beautifully.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm assuming these are an automatic warranty killer? Then again I don't rely on the factory warranty all that much with new cars unless it's something blatantly wrong.
The MS3 2010 has some good engine-rock that's for sure. I'd like to get rid of that.
Not necesarrily. Dealer didn't care about mine when I went in for warranty work. Most dealers should be cool with it, along with other minor bolt ons like an SRI, TIP, BPV... just don't go in with a FMIC, TBE, and tune and expect free work to be done on your car.
Makes sense, most probably wouldn't notice the mounts anyways. After watching Jason's (corksport) video showing how much play there is in the mount, I'm going to order these things on payday and install right away. I'm so not enjoying the engine rock in my MS3.
Mounts between the two vehicles are identical.
The tranny mount is different. The transmission has a little 'tooth' that slips up into the new mount. The new mounts also have less rubber and some of what looks like cast metal around the bushing through which the bolt goes.
The rear mount is identical, and any aftermarket mount should fit the new model.
