MS3's performance during winter

So its been really cold in GA the last few weeks and this car behaves much differently when it is cold.

For one my mileage is down to 22-24 city driving
Every time I go over a hump I can hear squeaks when the car is cold
Shifting is painful with all the heavy clunking

And I stay out of boost when the engine is cold. So my car is usually chugging around very slowly like an 8 month pregnant mama on wheels! Of course this is much to the chagrin of the drivers behind me.

After it has warmed up, shifting is smooth as butter and boosting makes more sense!

Do you guys also see the same stuff (or more) when the car is cold? Post your MS3's winter tantrums.

yep, lots and LOTS of posts already about it.

today is was awful in the morning, but once it was fully warmed up, she was shredding the tires well into 3rd gear :)

yea i was in tn for christmas and driving was much less fun and now its a little warmer in jacksonville fl and things are improving.

Yeah this car sounds like it's falling apart before it warms up. I also stay out of boost until it's up to temperature. I brought the car in last year for the squeaky bushing issue and they said they could not replicate it. Stuipid stealerships!

i tell ya this much...if people who sold boats treated their CONSUMERS the same way car dealers did, they would be out of business at the drop of a hat......

if you want a long story, with all the documentation of a legal proceeding, ask me why i'll never buy another nissan. and i think they make a great product.

now mine is noisy until warmed up, but i like that. it reminds me of how really raw this little car is... i bet it is ridiculous with hard motor mounts.... just warm it up right, then drive as normal...

turbocharged cars love the cold weather, though my mileage goes down a bit.

cold weather = denser air/fuel charge = less knock = fun!

I've had my car for about 2 years now and haven't driven it in winter until this year. Like everyone else mentioned, it does creak, rattle, sqeek, etc. Im not very fond of it but I guess it does go away after the car is warmed up.
