MS3 vs Tiburon again

This race has been planned at a local drag strip, no where in that thread did i state that it was a "street race". Just clarifying

well if you get to the nitty gritty i can offer you the best numbers from wikipedia.

if it's the top-of-the-line it's the 2.7L V6. which is 173hp, 181lb/ft torque. weight should be just under 3000lbs. maybe the cai gives it another 10hp and tq. so lets just say 183hp, 191lb/ft tq

so that give you a hp:weight of about 16.4 lbs/hp

the ms3 has a power to weight of about 12 lbs/hp

so by the books the ms3 is pretty much in the clear. but you can't be sure of a winner unless you for one know the skill of yourself and the skill of the other driver, and what the other driver really has under the hood

and also, if you do just one race what's to say that you won't accidentally stall when the green flashes? in that instance i think a smart car could still beat you in a 1/4 mile

too many variables to want to put up 500 of my own cash

Personally, I'd avoid someone like that. Even if he's just ignorant, I wouldn't expect him to play fair if the race comes out in your favor. Beware of sharks and people who do crazy stuff when they get their feelings hurt.

Glad to see the clarification about street racing vs drag strip. I would have to agree with the others who say that this guy may have more mods than he is letting on, or he is going to show up with slicks. I hope you have been down a drag strip before. If he is experienced and you are not, he will be able to make up a lot of ground. Should be fun though. Be safe.

i apologize for closing the last thread it was never said there was going to be a street race but it didn't say there was going to be a legal race either. the thread was reported and i read it and closed it. if this is indeed a legal drag race have fun and good luck on a nice clean run!

Coming from a previous tiburon owner if the kid is offering money for you to race hes NOT stock. The tiburon community is well aware of the MS3's capabilites. Tibbys respond well to FI, and can be easily supercharged.(Most are supercharged) My guess is he has a STG 2 NGM Sniper iced supercharger which will give you a run for your money. Call him on the supercharger and see what he says...

yeah i i plan on checking under his hood next time i see him, he agreed to let me take a look, i honestly think he just might be retarded but in any case he be talkin some mad smack about the speed3. and in regards to experience on a drag strip i have been down a few times, stock my best time was 13.9 so i should be good there.
