MS3 Spoiler Mod

So I was driving the other day and saw a new MazdaSpeed3 Hatch in red with, i guess you would call them spikes i think, from the rear spoiler. I think it was the same spikes that are on the roof of the Mitsu Evo..Anyone else ever seen this or know how this is done???I thought it looked really nice..

yea thats it...is that one piece or all seperate pieces?? I was just surprised to see it on the mazda and as i was looking at it i thought it looked pretty sick...

is that what its called?? I didnt know anything about it and when i saw it on the other mazda3 it looked so flawless that i thought it was just added to the top of the stock spoiler somehow...

People who know what their real function is will point and laugh at you.

Just so you're aware, they're a functional part of the aerodynamics of an Evo. They smooth airflow departing the aft section of the roof and direct it over the spoiler. Replacing your spoiler with them, or placing them on top of your spoiler will make you look incredibly ignorant.

wow...be easy people..i just liked the way it looked..people do alot of stupid things to their cars that they think look good and it really looks like garbage..some of you i'm sure as well have done this very thing..

In keeping with the true spirit of this thread...

Since the part doesn't exist for the MS3, you'd simply to order the EVO part and duct tape it to your car.

These are vortex generators. They reduce drag and create more downforce on the rear spoiler. Google is your friend.

vortex generators. they create vorticies which are suposed to help make the air fallow the contour of the whatever its atached to. theroeticly if attached to the area in front of the spoiler it could help make a smaller wake of air behind the car and aid in fuel mileage.

dose anyone know how much voltage those vortex generators make.

depends on how fast it's going. the voltage output is logarithmic and not linear
