MS3 intercooler question, help/photoshop request

1. Ok so the MS3 has a top mount IC, but where does it get the air from?

2 On some Protoge's I have seen where the owner added a hood scoop. My question is if you wanted to do this could you just buy a 02-03 WRX hood scoop(because 02-03 were low profile) and have a body shop install it?

3. If anyone can do photoshop I would like to see a silver MS3 with a hood scoop, like the 02-03 WRX scoop?

Thanks
Ryan(yes)

The air goes in through narrow ducts attached beneath the hood. That is why Mazda had to raise the hood line of the MS3 to allow the installation of the ducts. The same applies to the MS6. *^_^*

alright thanks, so would adding a hood scoop help at all, and I would still like to see a MS3 with a hood scoop, please

Just go buy the new STI when it comes out. It looks just like the MS3 and has a hood scoop. =p

Although not proven (at least not by me), I think the hood scoop would perform better than the ducting system employed by Mazda. I don't believe there is an aftermarket hood (w/ the scoop) for the MS3 as of now; it's only a matter of time before we see one. *^_^*

Just because you don't see a hood scoop, doesn't mean the ones hidden in the grill aren't doing their job. Personally, I think it would be a wash either way. A scoop would screw up the lines of the car.

Ahh but there is one. I think its RE Amenyia that makes one, plus fiber images is coming out with a CF hood with a recessed scoop.

i will look for pics

found it... made by re-ameniya. Personally I don't like it, even if it was painted body color it would still disrupt the flow of the car IMO

Will you give me 35K(drinks). And that hood on the red MS3 is probubly $700-$1000, but I do like it. I would rather get the low profile scoop and have it installed

BTW this bumper makes the front look mean, I think it would look great with a hood scoop

I think they put the scoop in the wrong place (notcool)

My guess is it still works with some sort of ducting. Even the Fiber Images scooped cf hood uses ducting to direct the air over the intercooler.
