MS Protege for me?

Rarity, looks and handling were the three big factors for me. Still are. I love mine. I figured as things broke it would force me to learn how to work on turbo import stuff, and it's done a fine job of that as well, lol.

It all gets down to this...the Protoge was never ment to have a turbo on it. It's a parts car. Nice an all but...it's not a Mazda turbo kit..it's kind of a thrown together car really.

Basically it was there econo car they added some stuff to make it cool.

Hmmmm...I guess we can agree to disagree. I see you finally sold yours...what will it be replaced with? Miss it yet?

I'm at 45,000 Km and exept the usual MSP stuff (manifold, radio), it's trouble free. Runs very nice and it's quite reliable. It'a a perfect fun daily driver that can be taken to the track on weekends. But it's no M3 for sure...

wadup crotchmonster!
we actually live very close to each other. i live in Valley Village now (north hollywood).
i owned 2 MSPs over the period of 3 years, if you want we can meet up and chat. also there are Evo meets in Burbank every wendsday night. we can meet up there. any car is welcome.

The Protege was not Mazda's econo car? The Protege WAS meant to have a turbo?

I miss having a cool car. I have a 2005 Trailblazer as my demo now...kinda lame, but free.

White STi is next.

i'm with savy.
mazda didnt even use the ECU that Calloway designed for the car.
by calloway design it was supposed to run 200hp safely. 170 or so at the wheels.

there is only ONE MSP that has that ECU...the original ECU calloway designed the car with. it's on the demo car. i played arround with it on the freeway once....foker pulls.

Calloway's original design included hard pipes as well.
